Are we ever going to be content with what this game produces?

I think the title says it all honestly and yes, I understand that this game arrived in a broken state and illfonic knew this. Yet, are we ever really going to stop asking for more from illfonic in the future? PHG is something they pushed out knowing that everyone would be home. They also tried to stay true to their release date as so many other producers do not. Many push their games back months and months stating they want a finished product but rarely does that ever happen. I do believe games are something that are meant to feel alive. You are suppose to immerse yourself and traverse mentally to another place in time and space. Great games allow you to do this and maybe, just maybe we all are a bit spoiled in what we expect nowadays. I do expect finished products but is it ever really finished after the “bugs” are gone?

Will we ever be content or will we always ask for more from illfonic in the fututre?

hey, I am feeling this thread at the moment. I could agree when the game came out it needed some serious tweaking, and it still does need to go back and forth abit. Some of the comments on the forum though really make me wonder what kind of experience or gameplay they were expecting out of it and where does it end?

I’ve been vocal about some stuff but after this patch I don’t feel that need so much, I think it’s kind of in Fireteams’ court now to see how fun these changes make the gameplay for them because pred suffers from being too easy for me right now.

As for the complete game we got right now, its a bit barebones ill give it that. It was maybe a little pricey for what is offered but I paid it without thinking twice because it was Predator. considering the hours I’ve logged so far even as broken as it was/is I’ve gotten what I could out of it, I’ve invested myself in RP’ing the predator some and got brought back with all the sounds and that stuff.

There are many elements which were clearly rushed or not thought through and yet there are some which are really great. I’ve never developed a game but compared to playing other games those things were easy to spot. Regardless if they add future content and people are still playing in a couple of months so i can get a match I will be surprised and delighted. wish this game the best.

Right? I see so many other people urging the game in the direction they want it to go but it feels as if we are chasing down the greed of more and more. Im not sure what they will add but I hope eventually we will all come to the conclusion that this is just another great game in a series that should have been MILKED a LOOOOOOOONG time ago. Im saddended that there isnt more cinema and games then there are but thats probably because I fan out on this series so hard. IMHO I think this series really is a gold mine.

lol fallout. man they set themselves up with that engine for it to be broken and exploited at every turn. incredible really. as you say this game is imbalanced and buggy but not outright broken.

weve had a few patches that have already addressed some major issues thankfully like getting stuck in the floor in certain places and having odd and ill balanced stats. The stats really need to be looked at closely. I do understand what you mean though about F76. F76 felt like they released that game as a base way to make money. They also bought alot of time before releasing the DLC. which idk if you have been watching but that DLC has gotten people who would have never gotten that game to thrown down money in corona crisis times. F76 is what not to do, this game just needs edits and bug fixes. So yes, its probably best to not state its broken

No because a game like this even if it is balanced it will never be enough for players because everyone has a different idea of what balance is. Some people seriously feel predator should win 90% of the time so it will never be strong enough for those people if designers go for 50 50 and don’t make fireteam just fodder for predator power fantasies.

Or maybe cuz this game has no story leaderboard any kind of stat tracking no prestige minimal class, skilland perk variety 3maps that are all basically the same, broken combat one game mode that is repetitive and unrewarding.
No real point this isnt a game its a demo that sold as a game yea i think people are gonna be fuckin bullsharks about that.
I dont know why as a developer you would be ok with releasing this to the public?
No self respect at all.

Industry standard practice for almost all games is to push out periodic but steady content releases.
So yeah we will get more maps, guns, characters, lore, etc… because that’s how its done. It keeps players vested and playing, the game grows and more copies get sold and then some optional cosmetics will be sold later for additional income to support developement.

Illphonic is already working remotely so they will be able to continue working on content during the pandemic, just at a slower than normal pace.

Short answer? No.

Various skill levels and different mains will see balance completely different.

Example: Bad FT that clustered and didn’t know what parry did said zerk/combi was OP. Bad preds that decided to charge into a good FT that either spread or parried, got wrecked and thought FT was OP.

Of course, now you can have one support member tank 9 hits, plus 4 parries, while second winding the pred.

Have fun fueling corporate video games thst have no heart or soul and yes i do hope development companys that sell out and deliver less then the bare minimum games all deserve to die from pandemic flu the industry needs a perge aperently, fucking awful games and idiot lemming that support them.

I mean will the community stop asking for stat changes and their own input into the game as well as items and dlc. Seems as though we will always keep telling them their game is shit or trash because somebody, somewhere wont be content with the game. I just hope illfonic eventually comes to a conclusion on stats, sometime soon preferably.

Well recent reviews of Wastelanders shows its still a broken mess, riddled with cheaters and exploits, plus Bethesda lied about the game from the getgo.

So yeah…its not a good game, and certainly not “incredible”, its incredibly buggy and bad coming from a AAA studio.
