Attack on Titan for Beginners Part 2

Moral of the story is if you don’t completely genocide your enemies, they win.

He turned the whole cast into traitors for no reason. Hate it. Should’ve just ended ambigiously at the rumbling but the author goes out of his way to butcher every character after years of buildup.

Utilitarian moral arguments have no leg to stand on when it comes to survival. The fat man does not have a civil duty to throw himself onto the tracks to stop the proverbial train.

Besides the initial Marleyan invasion of Paradis, i feel like the hate for Eldians by other people’s have not been shown well in the anime (i probably forgot things, but still it’s like the rest of the world doesn’t exist anyway) It feels like Eren is going out on a limb with the genocide. It doesn’t feel like survival is at stake. It’s just revenge.

Its probably bad worldbuilding but Marley is the only place that even integrates eldians into their society. Marley feeds kids to dogs for leaving the camps but that’s considered generous treatment on the world scale.

The rest of the world hates them because they’re Marley’s dogs. Same reason no one wanted to ally with paradise. By exterminating titans they level the playing field with Marley. And Marley was phasing out titans and getting rid of the extra baggage anyway because anti-titan weaponry had gotten too effective. Eventually someone with royal blood could inherit the founder one way or another.
The whole world considers Eldians a liability. One side has to genocide the other eventually.

That makes sense. Still, it’s not the fault of Paradis. They have not done anything since walling themselves. They should not be blamed for Marleyan use of them. The Marleyan Eldians that do the bidding are a product of keeds being brainwashed. I know that in a complex world it’s probably a difficult point to get behind. It’s like an idealist notion of something. Its correct, but politically impossible. I guess it’s an accurate representation of a world as compared to a real one.

Damn all political in this thread, better stop before they shut down this thread but let’s just say this is just another Japanese symbology of using nukes, don’t ask why but the message is the same, world peace and the rest just dramatic theater 🎭

So it doesn’t have to make sense, it’s just there to lament an unjust punishment for imperialist ideology?

They formed resistance factions within the concentration camps that coordinated with eldia to secure the founder.
Destroyed the kings will & wiped out that whole bloodline, King’s Will was also tyranny in a different form.

Really the only answer in this series was violence. Everything was stacked against them from the very start.

If they chose to remain ignorant within the walls it would still just mean Eldia waits for its demise, the world was phasing titans out.

Granted, they were inching towards the truth. But it still feels like they were not intent on invading Marley. I still don’t quite get why the Eldian brass agreed to Eren’s plan to get Zeke. Or was Eren acting on his own and they only came to retrieve an asset? There definitely was an alliance with the Harbor nation cause that’s how they got the flying ship. Was it all really for the Rumbling and destruction of Marley?

I still don’t quite get the Marleyan plan about sealing the founder. I’m not sure they knew Zeke was royalty and Historia wasn’t part of the main objective either. (I think I’ve mentioned this before). Perhaps they were just looking to see what would happen.

Are you taking about Historia here? Erwin’s schemes

The Owl stuff

Gotcha. But Owl is not Paradis. At worst hes like a terrorist. Paradis should not be blamed for his actions.

I don’t know what Owls plan was besides freeing Paradis from the royals. Was it to eventually war with Marley or the world or just to give Paradis the truth and let them enter the world?

I think he could see the future, but we don’t know what that is. Grisha couldn’t see it well enough. I wonder what Eren saw.

Just a hypothetical. Even though Levi owns the Beast Titan, would he defeat Annie, Eren or Reiner in a forest setting? Im pretty sure noone beat the collosal titan 1v1. He’s heavily script nerfed ever since Armin got him.

TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Annie was the best fighter, Mikasa sprained Levi’s ankle but that would’ve been a wrap.

not to mention thunder spears vs reiner.

Reiner i agree. Annie is very fast so I’m not sure Levi would manage. Eren is somewhere in the middle, he’s stronger than Annie, but perhaps not fast enough.

He had to have seen more than that, but yeah, the other option wouldn’t get him anywhere.

No no no, it’s to not use nukes (weapons of mass destruction) or as hange explained GENOCIDE IS NOT THE ANSWER! Lol

So what is the answer? Ask lady Yunleska for advice and of that doesn’t work, think of ‘something’. It’s not until after the Rumbling that Marleyan even acknowledged that they were in the wrong so talking wasnt a likely solution.

You don’t know that, from what you are saying has already happened but what I’m explaining is parallel, because in real life no one wants to go to war and treat others as inferior human beings…now at least, so let’s take a more productive solution, I always thought it would have been better that the Eldians captured the Marleyian scout parties, put them on trials and arrest them, then send emissaries to Marley to parlay and exchange the prisoners for terms, then afterwards the Eldians can build boats and travel the world and explore and learn and grow and if Marley makes a move, Eldia would have made allies with other countries (because they will find out they are people not devils) and set up a world of leaders sort of group to established not the use of Titans as weapons, well like they say in a perfect world huh 🤷

Yes, the only thing I would change if for Marleyan to make the first move. They did nothing after the Shiganshina aftermath, but should have started talks with Paradis. Then then knew about the invasion and still did nothing to try to stop it. Then the invade Paradis again without any thought of diplomacy. Only after the Rumbling do they think that perhaps there were better ways to handle things.

On another note, why didn’t Zeke reveal the euthanasia plan to the Marleyan? They would have been on the same page. Also, what was the final stroke of his plan? The wine would get rid of the Paradis military, and what would follow?

They couldn’t, still had Titans or they were still scared of the rumbling which see happened anyway lol and why would Marleyians negotiate? Hi we want the founder so we can rule the world and keep oppressing everyone and hey one day we are going to come back and kill the rest of you lol 😆

Uh because they use them as weapons they don’t want to lose the only thing keeping them in power

Without a military a nation can’t defend itself
