The show was already set in stone and foreshadowed everything thatâs currently happening since the first ep with Eren crying under the tree. What did change several times was the ending itself. The show wouldnât have lasted without the military coup, and S3 part 2 was the peak of the show, and the Marley raid is one of the better timeskips in anime overall.
All the political intrigue isnât filler just like it wasnât it GoT (aside from the showwriters trying to finish the books with their fanfiction). Yelenaâs being established as a character because her actions are going to relate to the rumbling.
So Gabbi and Falco being on a horse farm for 27 mins wasnât a filer? I understand the other plot points of the Royal bloodline and them trying to steal the founder back but fuck Gabi and Falco. They should have just tossed them off the airship

I get jean doesnt like killing people but then he shouldnt be in charge. He also hesitated finishing off cart bc falco which bought her time to react, and sent a new recruit to watch the ship solo

I donât consider it filler just rushed character development and motivations that make no sense compared to what weâre used to. Gabi & Falco feel like he just wanted to start on a new manga. Gabi is literally written exactly like indoctrinated people talk, she is an annoying hypocrite intentionally - what sucks is that they survive because the author thinks there should be more to their plot and they end up in forced, unrealistic situations. But stuff like Conny and the plot with his mother got so butchered his motives make no sense unless hes schizophrenic. Same for most of the scouts that donât have any actual reason to be against Eren. Anyway the point of the farm was that it was Sashas hometown & japanese struggle with subtlety.

I miss when I thought it was a medieval timeline and their struggle against man eating titans and the hope of one day traveling the world
You want their characters to be stuck in one mindset, not seeing or undetranding the reason for their struggles, with no solution in mind?

I liked how mikasa was diplomatic with her relative instead of going âeren needs meâ. Thatâs a bit of character progression. Though i though her expression was cold as usual

Or at least thatâs what I thoughtâŠnow I dunno đ
They got freedom and a realization that they are not free. That there are other people and that people fight each other.
There was a purpose for all of that. To end the war. It didnât end the war for humanity, but it did temporarily end it for the eldisns on paradis. It was never going to last tho.

You have to face the music, which is ambitions of other people.
It seems like war cannot be abolished, but i guess you fight for temporary truce/understanding and then you start all over again when people get complacent and boredom sets it

Theres many struggles and there are moment of happiness. They had to overcome so much and so many dead just be be in this position. Itâs not great, but itâs a stepping stone towards peace and understandingâŠi hope.
