Im thinking outside the box here, but maybe he did it to prove a point. Mikasa’s activation and in general that they would have to fight him so this was the first taste of that, so they are ready then it matters. But, if armin is being lead by memories of berholdt, how can eren be sure thay his actions are his own?

I thought it was odd the anime omitted a couple lines from the manga about how memories can make people who they are. Seemed important.

Still, many of the scout and eldisns died. Just because we’re so attached to Sasha doesn’t mean that Gabi is any worse than others. Sasha was a soldier and some soldiers die on the battlefield.

She’s the top candidate for armor titan. Her iq is at least up there with Falco. She killed Sasha on impulse. Most every soldier in this conflict has kills like that

Erwin shooting flares at the beast titan to make him miss during their kamikaze was a higher IQ play than anything Armin’s come up with.

Armin just states the obvious that no one else considered because they were stressed out. Or has some outlandish tactic like trying to trigger bertholdt and then when it fails gives up command to Jean.
Armin’s clever but he’s no battlefield tactician at all IMO.

I think Erwin is not on the list cause it’s season 4.

Armin is still learning. He may be a good tactician but the position is too much for him. He doesn’t want to be in charge of determinong who lives and who dies. He’s not hardened enough yet

She gets a pass and doesnt die as a soldier solely because she’s a child soldier which is why nobody likes her.

Going around screeching indoctrinated rhetoric in enemy territory after they’ve spared your life is pretty low IQ. Multiple instances of this. Falco is her wrangler. She has 0 foresight and no regard for her own life, she went on the airship assuming she’d die and shoot some people in the back while she was at it.

Its kind of like having a kid as a protagonist in a horror movie. They’re basically immune & their reason for being there is contrived meanwhile everyone else dies which gets stale because its a genre where you expect that not to happen.

All her big plays are stuff like deciding to tie a bomb to her leg and run at an enemy encampment assuming they wont shoot her because shes a kid.

She’s never showed an ounce of self-preservation she just does whatever she assumes would make the slaves back home proud. IQ about as high as the average ISIS child soldier with a bomb vest.
Falco is the one actually trying to survive but he feels like he has a duty to his psycho childhood friend lol

We haven’t really seen enough of what child soldiers do, but the trick with the bomb saved a lot of lives. Even though we don’t see her other accolades, she’s still considered the top candidate for armored titan and that has to count for a lot.

Falco is slowing her down

Most of erwin’s planning was gambles that were wery risky too. They worked out, but also could have failed. Of course then we wouldn’t have a story.

Ewrin trades lives for lives with an execution and end goal. Gabi just runs at people with a weapon screaming hoping they’ll panic because she’s a kid, trading her life for ???

A nice meal for her family when her body doesn’t come back home?

That’s the world she lives in. She’s a kid and already has so much riding on her shoulders.

She’s a single soldier, not t in charge of anyone else, like Erwin.
