AVP Hunting grounds idea.

kind of an off and on topic idea? but was running ideas in my head and came up with this idea. thought the creators or anyone who reads this might like the idea? who knows right? anyways. AI was used in this. only to bring out the idea and flesh it out. I’m not a professional. But here’s the pitch. #writtenbyai

Aliens vs. Predator: Infestation

This document outlines a vision for a next-generation asymmetrical multiplayer experience. This is not a proposal for an existing game, but a “what could be”—a concept born from a passion for deep, emergent gameplay and the iconic Aliens vs. Predator universe.

True Asymmetry

The foundational concept is “True Asymmetry,” where three factions don’t just have different abilities, but play entirely different genres, fused seamlessly into a single, cohesive match:

  • A 4-Player Co-op First-Person Shooter (FPS): The Colonial Marines, focusing on tactical survival and objective completion.

  • A Solo Third-Person Stealth-Action Game: The Yautja (Predator), focusing on individual mechanical skill and the art of the hunt.

  • A Solo Hybrid Real-Time Strategy (RTS) & First-Person Action Game: The Alien Hive Mind, focusing on grand strategy, resource management, and direct control of elite units.

Victory is not achieved by the “strongest” faction, but by the superior execution of a specific skillset—Marine teamwork, Predator mechanics, or Alien strategy.

The World: A Living, Hostile Ecosystem

The map itself is a dynamic entity. the environment is teeming with dangerous, neutral NPC wildlife that is a constant factor for every team.

  • A Hazard (Marines): Wildlife will attack lone Marines, demanding vigilance and consuming precious ammo.

  • A Resource (Predator): Hunting wildlife allows the Predator to heal without using their limited kits, rewarding map knowledge.

  • The Fuel (Aliens): Wildlife is the primary source of Biomass, the resource required to build and evolve the swarm.

Detailed Faction Breakdown

1. The Colonial Marines (4 Players)

You are the boots on the ground. Outgunned and outmaneuvered, your only advantages are your training, your fire discipline, and the soldier next to you.

  • How They Play:

    • Gameplay: A tense, squad-based FPS. Communication is paramount.

    • Mechanics: Players select from customizable loadouts (Primary, Secondary, Gear, Perks). They must manage finite ammo and medical supplies. A key tool is the Motion Tracker , which can provide crucial intel on enemy movements, including hidden Alien units.

    • The Reinforcement System: The Marines have three reinforcement charges per match. A living Marine can initiate a risky, 30-second radio call—broadcasting their position to all enemies—to call in a dropship that respawns a fallen teammate.

  • Paths to Victory:

    1. Mission Path: Complete all assigned, multi-stage objectives and have at least one Marine extract.

    2. Hunter Path: Eliminate both opposing factions by killing the Predator and decapitating the Alien Hive (killing the Queen AND all Praetorians).

  • Skill Expression: Teamwork, positioning, resource management, and grace under extreme pressure.

2. The Yautja / Predator (1 Player)

You are the ultimate hunter. This battlefield is your personal proving ground, and its inhabitants are merely potential trophies. Your victory is measured in honor and skill.

  • How They Play:

    • Gameplay: A high-mobility, third-person stealth-action experience.

    • Mechanics: The Predator utilizes superior mobility (“Predkour”), a cloaking device, multiple vision modes, and a deadly arsenal. The core loop is stalking, isolating, and executing targets.

    • Second Wind & Vulnerability: After taking critical damage, the Predator can trigger a temporary speed boost to escape. They must then find a safe location to perform a channeled healing animation. It is only during this stationary healing animation that the Predator is vulnerable to being impregnated by a Facehugger.

  • Paths to Victory:

    1. Honorable Victory (Personal Win): Achieve a target “Honor Score” by claiming trophies from high-value targets (Marines, Praetorians). Upon completion, a triumphant roar echoes across the map, and the Predator’s victory is secured. They can then choose to extract peacefully, or remain as a chaotic wild card. This means a Predator can win alongside another victorious faction. To claim the victory, they must survive and successfully extract at the end of the match.

    2. Domination Victory (Solo Win): Be the last faction standing by eliminating all Marines and the entire Alien command structure.

3. The Aliens / Hive Mind (1 Player)

You are the will of the Swarm. A disembodied intelligence playing a grand game of chess where your pieces are living nightmares, and your goal is total conquest.

  • How They Play:

    • Gameplay: A unique hybrid of RTS and First-Person Action.

    • RTS Mechanics (The Grand Strategy): The default view is top-down. You command your AI-driven swarm to gather biomass, capture hosts, and expand your Hive’s influence via a network of resinous nodes. The Queen is your core unit, but is extremely vulnerable during two key cycles: the 10-second “Gestation State” when producing units, and the high-risk “Migration” process, where she physically relocates to a new area of the map.

    • First-Person Action (The On-the-Ground General): When your elite units engage a high-value target, you can “Assume Direct Control,” zooming into a first-person perspective.

      • Praetorian vs. Predator: Becomes a skill-based, one-on-one duel.

      • PredAlien vs. Marines: You become an unstoppable siege engine.

      • While in first-person, you retain a streamlined RTS interface, allowing you to command your AI swarm to flank, support, and overwhelm your enemies while you lead the charge.

  • Paths to Victory:

    1. Path of Conquest: Reach the “Infestation Threshold” by covering a critical percentage of the map in Hive webbing.

    2. Path of Eradication: Annihilate all other lifeforms by eliminating all Marines and the Predator.

Signature Mechanics: The Engine of Chaos

  • Facehuggers - The Strategic Tool: Facehuggers are not primarily impregnation units. Their main function is as a strategic nuisance.

    • Against a healthy target, a pounce triggers a “Nuisance” state . The victim is briefly disoriented and their view is obscured as they are locked in a frantic animation to rip the creature off. This 1.5-second window is a death sentence in a firefight.

    • They can be countered by team support (the buddy system), the Motion Tracker, fire, and the Predator’s advanced vision modes.

  • Host Capture & Elite Creation: This is the Alien’s core progression mechanic.

    • Capturing Marines: A downed Marine can be dragged to a Hive Node, consuming them to instantly spawn a powerful Praetorian .

    • Impregnating the Predator: This is the ultimate prize. Requires trapping a Predator during their vulnerable “Second Wind” heal. Success eliminates the Predator from the game and grants the Alien player the PredAlien —their playable, first-person hero unit.

This interplay of deeply fleshed-out mechanics ensures that no two matches are ever the same. The game is a true digital battleground that creates endless, player-driven stories of survival, honor, and domination. It’s a vision of what could be—the definitive asymmetrical experience. sooo. there you have it. if you find it to be a good idea or what not please. take this concept and run wild! I don’t care to own it or want any credit. who knows maybe it would be a wild idea that could bring even more folks into this genre. Predator Hunting Grounds is a great game! and I have myself been a fan of AVP ever sense I played many of the games and watched the movies. along with the Predator and Alien standalones. Have a good day and or night.
