They were not supposed to have an avp license … however here we have celtic and chopper …
Do you want to tell us something with this? If I had the mask or the wolf character it would be great … but leaving that aside, I think this update is great, despite bugs that will be fixed now or in the near future, I hope December will bring us even more things .
But what was it … how is it possible that we have avp masks?
I know that the developers can’t say much, but I think it would be nice to know if they have been able to do it because of some license compatibility and incidentally … if they are going to bring more things in the future …
Currently I think the only thing really lacking is more game modes or rather … hunting
avp masks!?
I hadno idea Chopper was another AVP pred. but ok.
The can use the masks because they’re masks, but not the names or the characters. That’s why the masks are called something different.
well it’s not bad
Everything as far as we know legal wise is that any Predator who exists within AVP content or Predator content that explicitly shows & involves Alien stuff regardless, such as for example Concrete Jungle: is still counted under the Predator solo licence. So whilst they may be AVP original characters, they’re also branded under Predator and free to be used in games and content such as HG even if the Devs don’t have the specific AVP licence.
And no, name changes to Masks have nothing to do with Licencing, as we see now that the Falconer Predator from Predators has been renamed to Foxtrot. That is a solely Predator licence character, there is no legal reasoning to have said character renamed. What this tells us, or at the very least suggests, is that Fox is once again internally Renaming characters,. This is not new, this has happened several times actually and in fact its happened with Chopper as well who was originally called Gills, and let’s not forget Mr Black was once called Berserker. This has also happened several times with the Lost Predators from Predator 2 over the years.
It may in fact be very similar to what happened with Transformers throughout the very late 90s & early 2000s, where they had to rename various characters over the years due to various factors such as primarily not having the Copyright to a certain name anymore. Very likely to be a reason for such cases of renaming in the Predator franchise also.
The masks have different names and are not movie accurate, i guess that’s some of the reasons they can still use them for this game.
