To my genuine surprise, the game is… Balanced. The only problem I have with the way the game currently stands is the overuse of plasma caster builds and Field Medic builds. Shouldn’t be able to revive peeps in 1 second. Honestly, that’s all I have a problem with.
You may disagree, but really, just because you get fucking swiss cheesed by a FT for rushing with melee doesn’t mean the game is imbalanced. You got punished for being a retard and that’s that.
As far as balancing goes, here’s my idea going forward.
Increase the amount of energy the caster takes up with charged shots. The dependency on certain builds revolving around the caster is not only annoying but takes little skill to use. It’s a fair win button, to be certain. Hide behind a wall, charge to a certain point, peak, and release. Several times. Works almost every time. It’s very difficult to avoid these massive bolts of plasma and they just keep coming, leaving FT little time to counter, unless they want a mouth full of pain.
As for Field Medic, increase the amount of time required to revive people as Field Medic. Since it takes about 3 seconds to rez with just FM, I think it should be left alone. That’s fair enough and allows the Predator to punish in that time frame. Dexterous, however, revives peeps in one second. Either increase the time required to rez by one second with Dexterous or remove the bonus Dexterous gives to rezzing entirely. Leave it able to increase interaction times for everything else.
The plethora of FM’s running around currently is… To say the least, unfair. Yes, it’s possible to take them down by focusing on them, I won’t argue with that. It’s still a problem, though. Even if you focus on the Medic, with a premade team, you’re going to have to melt them before they even see you coming. With premades, sticking together will make this very difficult, outside of the jungle. But even then, it’s not as bad as four flockin’ FM’s. That’s just ridiculous. Ain’t really a way to fix that without restricting class stacking.
That’s all I have to say for now, please gimme your thoughts so we can bang this out and give Illfonic the feedback they need to help us. Help me, help them, help us, help me, help them.
