Bear Traps... Are they worth it?

I think the traps should be harder to detect tbh… they make noise and have a big obvious bubble around them. I dont think ive ever stood in one by accident, more just to clear it on purpose before a fight starts, or even to bait a pred out.

The best change to the trap for me is the answer to the question: why the hell can’t I get my trap off the floor? No seriously. There are TOTAL 3 of them, if the trap did not work, I want to pick it up and put it in another place! + maybe I would like to have a perk or just the ability to put 3 additional traps on the map at the stage of mission preparation, this can be useful.

Not sure about those buffs but a good start would be that AI no longer triggers them

I’m also down for a possibility of picking up unused traps to not waste a massive gear slot. I’ve stopped using them since i can’t hold both motion and traps as hunter or scout and would prefer information over a small CC that can be screwed over by AI anyway. I don’t play zerker due to horrific movement abilities.

Bear trap is fine, just remove the sound and give the possibilty to disarm if you find it. Then the perk trapper should has an additional effect: “the part of the trap visible by the fireteam is reduced”. The trap is influenced by the predator experience , a player must learn to position them in unexpected and unpredictable locations.

They are far to visible if you ask me. I would probably say tone down the visibility.

Not worth for Scout in my opinion. Not enough space.

Bear Traps worth it?? Hell yes they are!!

I use them for baiting Fireteam Members when I down one of them or for closing off Escape Routes when everyone huddles in a Building.

What’s more fun is to save a few for the Exfil, if a Match goes on that far. You’d be surprised to see how you can catch People off guard when they try to escape. Add in a few Net Gun Shots and you’ve got scrambled confusion everywhere.

Place a trap in a choke point, catch a ft member, Down him, use him as bait to attack another ft member. Repeat

AMEN… I also wish we could retrieve them if they havent been triggered

Traps at the exfil, pure evil🤣 I’m embarrassed to admit that I have been denied my escape a few times because of this non-Geneva Convention approved method 😏

Traps rule. I get downs every game because of them

Picking them would be cool, but I gotta restate

Fix.
The.
Aiming.
Throw.
With.
Them.

Lol

Try deploying from trees.

It helped me.

Also their big AoE makes them viable.

Bear traps!! Go to the 10:00 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvRFdgm_2vs

Absolutely, throwing them is such a pain in the ass, but I love using them.

Bear traps currently are the single most powerful tool the predator has with the any weapon as long as the beartrap is in the predator LOS whoever gets trapped gets downed immediatly the FT can’t fight back if you attack them from behind while their trapped

if the trap is well placed FT is forced to interact with it as they cannot destroy it knowing where it is doesn’t help if it is covering their obj or you placed it in their only escape / right on top of them

it’s the most overpowered tool we predators have and every single predator should take it except the scout cause they can’t afford it which makes them worse compared to hunter

So I’m gonna disagree to an extent.

Bear traps are very powerful but they have three major drawbacks.

One - If FT has a trap spot perks, its useless unless throw right away, no laying traps in wait with that perk.

Two - its set off by AI

Three - its thrown and done. If no one is caught and moves on, wasted trap.

Its a good tool and i recommend it but in opinion, the most powerful tool in a pred arsenal is the net gun.

Its a mobile stun/Chip damage trap with many uses. You can stop knives, gunfire, pin to the wall or ground in the right situations. And you can be highly mobile with it. Learn the shooting curve and its in my opinion the most powerful tool.

The trapper perk, which I highly, repeat, HIGHLY recommend, from what my game play has felt, apparently effects the net.

One you literally can even if they have the perk i’ve had more than enough games of dropping the trap on an obj such as reinforce they are forced to interact with it and die same with a channeling obj such as the fuel trucks

two correct it can be but in mass majority of games i play this doesn’t occur

3 again true but that depends on the skill of the player

between the net gun and the trap it’s debateablt the net gun has clear weakness’s that the BT doesn’t have to deal with
you can knife the net mid shot you can knife a FT and free him instantly you can macro the net making it worthless as a PC player the net breaks when it collides with some obj’s regardless of it it woulda hit a FT this includes the ground
albeit if the pinning function of the net gun was more consistent i would probably concede that it is better sadly in my experience it isn’t
whereas the trap is only effected by user error and random chance
seems like a clear winner to me IMO
