No reason to run any other build. Scout is worthless, and the other weapons are for a stalking type of gameplay which while admittedly MUCH more fun to play. There’s simply no reason to when the fireteam can just run in and revive the dead ones you took out. Not enough time left in the match to re-whittle everyone down.
The game developers encourage me to just blast a shot or two from my cannon then just run in and whack the crap out of them with my stick so that they’re all dead.
I think if anything he may get a nerf to stamina. You can’t nerf his health or damage too much, otherwise he becomes a slow hunter. But I deff agree it seems he’s the one everyone’s using. All day today he was the only Pred I came across. When I played Pred I used the Hunter and Scout and I wouldn’t doubt it if I was the only non Zerker these FT’s came across.
This is where I it comes to the devs giving better buffs to the other classes. Like an instant kill headshot, pounce from the trees kill. A one time use sort of skill.
For clarity, I’m not at all complaining. Just opening up the discussion in hopes some good ideas come out that the devs can use to balance the game.
I personally enjoy it, and play both sides of the field. I’m complete garbage as the predator because I play the whittle game and want to see that work. If you give me tools to play that way, I want to see it be a success. However I agree with the rest of the comments and statements about the fire team having too many health options and respawn with full health and equipment. If you think about the numbers game, a team had the potential to bring in 12 health packs and 8 stim packs. Plus health found in the game.
Playing the whittle, toy with your prey, concept is a long game that yields little odds of winning. Infinitely more rewarding that berserker rush if I’m awarded an opinion.

i played the whole weekend - made it up to rank 82 - always Fireteam!
At a point where i was pretty pissed that those Berserk dudes not even let us the FIreteam at least give us 5 minutes to do at least some mission XP stuff and not just beeing easy prey, i decide to quick assemble a Berserk Pred Build with Combistick just out of frustration and now guess what?
Yeah … without being used to play as the Pred I WON 3 TIMES IN A ROW!

A Berserker designed around tanking and Melee has a VERY similar play style…

Also, i just had a match again. I played Berserker with combistick, and the perks Impentable, & fearless… probably my fastest match to date… i downed one guy. While getting shot in the back by one(just one) of his friends.
Second winded, and because the “So OP” Berserker is slow as shit, I got ran down by the scout and had to blow myself up… 😂🤣🤣

With rank 82 and with the experience i have you can not say iam wrong, you say that just to satisfy your own opinion and to push that game further the way whats best for you and not for the game itself
you should say instead that, alltough ive seen a lot in the game right now, that i had just bad luck all the time. 82 ranks and a lot of hours long … yeah we all know this for sure
About chasing the pred: altough it is one of the very few tactics to win as a fireteam, teamplay is essential.
Well, here’s the thing: with randos in FT you barely, very rare you encounter real teamplay
OK, that means the other way around, with you, as a pred, encounter a strong good playing team, it means that you’re not able to react on that kind of playstyle, you’re not able to adapt and be flexible, you just expect same results with every playstyle. That is not a problem of the game, that’s a problem of the player!
i’ve seen, great Pred opponents (very few tbh but that’s ok after just 3 dayys!)- he stalks us at reinforcement, he knows how to separate us - and we loose - at one of those very rare lucky rando teamplay moments

The only reason i’m level 45 and you’re level 82, is probably(but not only) bevause i have been saving my double EXP for when the match making gets fixed, so drop the “My word is the word of God because of my WHOLE 4 DAYS of experience” attitude. Its not impressing anyone… 😂🤣😂

But its cool. Because your narcissistic brain will just decide that you cant possibly be wrong despite you admitting you never played Pred until Recently and have little to no experience as the Pred(You know everything anyway, right?)…
So lets look at you logic here.
You have very limited experience as the pred. You first pred being Berserker, but you won three matches, so Berserker must be OP because your general gaming skill or the fact that Berserker plays really similar to Fireteam magically means nothing…
And if anyone dies as the Berserker despite their level of skill or experience as playing pred, then they must be bad at the game because Berserker is OP and you magically can never be wrong…
You therapist must consider you quite the prize. Someone with such a complex defense mechanism that they are entirely unaware of the mental gymnastics they do just to be right all the time… lol

I really think its just a skill level thing and not the Pred Class…
Theres Pred mains out there wiping teams as the scout. THE SCOUT! Completely opposite of the “So OP” Berserker, with an entirely different skill set required…
I think if Illfonic Set up some kind of match making based around Skill level rather than just your profile level, there would be a lot less bitching on the forums…
Oh, and I can actually offer you some advice
Parrying is your best friend, hold out your knife and melee when he melees you, he’ll be stunned for a few moments and you’ll have a huge opportunity to demolish him.

But then he would have to change his play style a little to adapt to the new meta… its way easier to just cry and call the game broken until the devs make it easier… 😂
The meta, as it stands is
Rush the predator when he tries to rush you and huddle up like you’re baby penguins needing warmth.
The predator meta is “charge up the plasma caster behind cover and down them in one hit”
Which never works because you can just bunny hop around like you’re a crackhead and then instantly heal with your syringe.

Yeah that Fortnite bunny hopping is dumb as shit, but players will keep doing it until game designers start punishing it…
Its like running backwards and shooting to avoid melee damage in games. It was big until game devs got wise to it and made backing up slower than moving forward.
Maybe if the make Hopping reduce walking speed when you first land, or make it cost stamina?

Yup…He’s most definitely OP. I’ve been having the same problem. Plus when you use the speed perk & jump perk, it makes him more fast & agile. He’s damn near unstoppable.
