Berzerker is fine as is! Let's discuss

Hey guys, I’ve come to the conclusion after playing quite a few games against the Zerker/combi setup that it’s actually fine the way it is. This is how the predator is supposed to feel, tanky, vicious, and very scary to go up against in close combat. He’s far from invincible and when I have a good team who doesn’t bunch up and actually COVERS each other, he gets forced off after downing 1 maybe 2 guys.

Now, I WILL say that some guns are much better at forcing off a pred rush than others - the Scar, Minigun and 2nd and 3rd shotgun are all great, not so sure about the first 2 assault rifles and the SMG’s. But, that’s a subject for a different thread - making all the guns “good” while still making them feel different and worthwhile.

The only time the Zerker seems unstoppable is if he gets the drop on your team while you are dealing with an alarm - which is what the Predator is SUPPOSED to do!

I have also seen Hunter predators jump in with the combistick and beat a fireteam’s ass in short order. The Zerker has more health but not THAT much more - trust me, he cannot solo a team in cc that actually keeps calm and focus fires him. And if he goes for a glory kill you can force him into 2nd wind or kill him.

Players either forget to parry or just don’t know about it - the purpose of parrying is not to out-melee the pred but to create a pause in the slaughter so your friends have more time to focus him down.

What I would like to see is buffs to the other 2 predator classes to make them just as scary.

Here are some ideas - Hunter pred gets an extra accessory slot. This would give him more options to mess with the fireteam indirectly while not stepping into the Berzerker’s “ultimate brawler” zone.

Scout pred gets some kind of additional stunts/parkour moves he can do in branches to make him harder to hit in a standoff with the fireteam. Maybe allow him to do some crazy flips/twists while running to better evade gunfire. He’s squishy, so making him hard to hit would force the team to use grenades more.

Let’s find a way to make the other classes feel better without being punks about the Berzerker. In my view, the Zerker is just about perfect right now.

Any other ideas?

Ah yes a civil debate, look if you zerk with the stick you can rush in and kill the whole team I have done this multiple times but I don’t think bum rushing a whole squad and getting a team wipe easily is the way to go tho unfortunately, imo I think the easiest counter for the zerk is to parry and I will agree that the knife and parrying system is not in a good place rn because a man can 1v1 a zerk with a knife, now obviously to counter this you use the net gun or plasma caster but I don’t think people are using the parry for a single stun and that’s it, there is a way to parry all of the preds melee attacks if you are a parry god, now I think if they nerf the ft ability to parry then I think they should ‘slightly’ nerf the berserker, now the combistick is in a confusing place to me because it is the only viable melee option for the predator but I do think they should slightly nerf the combistick as well but I don’t how because they nerfed it from the trial but it still feels the same to me where it takes 4-5 hits to kill someone plus good predator know to not go for claims unless it’s safe to but what I do is down someone go back, charge up the caster and kill the down person, claims are just a free way to get shot plus you still get the kill counted with the caster and when it’s safe you can claim the dead person, I don’t think quick claiming in front of the team while they shoot you is a good idea, basically it comes down to this, if they nerf the ft from the many advantages and parrying then I think it’s fair that they nerf the zerk or the stick slightly but not to the point where “berserker is now underpowered” or “the combistick is underpowered” I think you should have variety in what you want to use because no one will use the club or the sword after they get the stick, I think it’s safe to say that both sides needs their adjusted nerfs to make it balanced for both the predator and the ft

Parrying might be good with a cooldown - you can parry once and it knocks you down/back while making the pred pause, then you cannot parry again for a few seconds even after you get up. That way you cannot use parry offensively to knife the pred or cheese him out.

Melee damage to the pred should be drastically reduced, it should not be a viable way to kill him let alone preferable to guns. Maybe it’s ok to chip the last little bit of health off a nearly downed pred, but I’m sure this will be balanced out in the future.

I agree about the club and sword being inferior right now - especially the club. I’d expect that weapon to do the most damage per hit and to stun/knockdown anyone hit by it, the downside being relatively short range and slow combo speed.

I’m sure there will be some good changes to melee in the near future.

Zerker or scout doesnt matter. Pred is a joke, I mow them down the minute they show up. Parry, en everyone stabs and he’s running off in second wind while the scouts run him down like a jungle pig.

Pred needs a buff so I have a better challenge.

Yeah his second wind needs improvement for sure and the knife damage needs to be nerfed, now parrying shouldn’t go away entirely like people or saying but it should not stay the way it is, IMO the knife is the ft best weapon since it takes 4-5 slashes to put him in second wind but then you can chase him and get an easy kill there

Im not sure what too say. You did not mention the OP sniper rifles that kill every pred. xD But too be honoust I have only played the regular pred, dont really see the useage for scout, or beserker for that matter. THe regular one fits my playstyle as well.
I mean a good team can deal with any predator. I never had much issues, unless i had a bad team as a marine.

PC sniper rifle user ey ? xD Use the revolver instead, way more fun
