Ok, so Luke sees the possible future. He SEES a vision that time. However in ROTJ he spells it out when he says Vader can feel when he’s near. Near being the key word here. I expect ‘near’ to mean possibly in the same star system or half way across a planet etc. Not across multiple star systems, otherwise Vader would’ve found Obi-Wan and every single other Jedi and killed them easily. He wouldn’t have needed the inquisitors or any other spy units to hunt them down. Vader, in ANH, also says he felt Obi-Wan “in the presence of his old master” meaning he and Obi-Wan were together at the time.
