So i just finished watching Bird Box the 2018 film, and thought …well…
What do you all think?
Have you watched it?
It struck me at the end of watching and how lured I was to watching it, and during the film how plot holed it was (which I think played a psychological theme with people), and the whole “close your eyes” stuff was a bit annoying, but by the final scene and when the credits roled, it felt like a well fitted happy ending.
It left me remembering some intriguing scenes (with the crazy dude who drew the pictures) and that folk lore from that guy who was writing a book.
To me, this works well as a thesis on horror monster films that hide their backstories. Much like how oddly intriguing Ridley Scott’s Alien was but in retrospect, when you look at what the lore had built it is actually the films saving grace.
