Bomb defusing is too easy

They are play tasting this man, they have testers for that type of things. I will tell you (probably) when its in. Killing yourself puts you at a massive disadvantage. 1 guy down = group at 75%. If the pred find you and downs 1 more you’re fucked. High risk = high reward.

Also and yes, if they really did not catch this one, they need better devs/testers.

When has playtesting actually prevented abusive mechanics ever? Rogue Company has instakill thrown melee friendly fire that’s inevitably going to be patched out once enough people grief eachother with it to bring the oversight to attention. It’s not a playtesting failure because the playtesters didnt try throwing katanas at eachother rather than playing the objective. It’s a game knowledge thing. Though who knows if PHG devs even play their own game looking at their stream.

At 3 hours of gameplay you’re not going to be micromanaging your syringes and ammo before hitting ammo boxes.

But me and you both know that if there’s one teammate at the radio waiting to hit the button its time for us to throw stuff on the ground and die to regroup with all our stuff.

I think the Idea of the bomb instantly going off if you screw up would be the most obvious change because normally that’s how bomb defusal works or so I’ve been lead to believe by movies of course 😜, although you could also add a huge payout of VT for not only Defusing it but also a Bonus based on the condition of the Predator you bring back in. This would make it an actual High Risk High Reward event. you could go a step further as well by increasing the blast radius only when the defusal fails to add extra pressure to the process.
At the very least I think these small things would add an incentive to try.

So, Predator uses all its Bear Traps during the engagement and manages to claim 3 FT. The FT reinforce, all those traps were wasted as well as the effort put into utilising them. Predator has absolutely no option to get back health kits, traps, nets etc and Fireteam know this. FT also have supply crates, health packs, ammo drops from AI to keep them in the game. Predator gets, if lucky, some boars. Anyone who doesn’t see how unbalanced and unfair this game is towards the Predator player (not even talking about how pathetic it’s damage resistance is, OP knife etc) is either biased, hasn’t played enough of both sides to understand, or is being argumentive for the sake of it.

Bringing it back on topic, the Bomb Defusal is not too easy. Every sequence is random, so you cannot memorise them. What happens is that players get more familiar with the process and become better skilled at it. Predator, knowing this, should try to activate the bomb on high ground, facing a wall/tree to make it difficult to have the mask shot off.

Also, having only one person being able to attempt it at any time is unfair because there’s always someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing but who wants to try (which is fine, we all had to learn somehow) and that stops someone who is actually competent having their shot.

Someone suggested that an error should automatically detonate it, and that’s a better idea although I think you should be allowed to make at least two mistakes collectively.

I’ve had cocky FT’s wiped by my bomb lol, but then other times it’s like the code is input before my pred can even take a knee. It varies wildly

That would be fine if only one person can attempt giving you that opportunity to learn BUT if all 4 members can attempt at the same time then the first one that screws up, screws it up for everyone. I think that’s only fair otherwise you remove all of the risk once your skill at defusal reaches a certain point, which it should obviously be easier of course just through EXP BUT adding that element of “What if I mess up and we all die” I feel would make it way more fun! Also you could even make it where the one member that actually solves it gets the biggest payout of VT and then everyone splits the bonus for bringing back the body obviously the better condition the higher the payout for that but then it also becomes a race for the FT trying to get the gold first which further reinforces the HIGH RISK/HIGH REWARD factor that the event has kind of lost now…

I’ve had it where the symbol I’ve matched has only been one button away on the first two glyphs of the sequence, and where they’ve been the same glyph for the first two slots, which is part of the random generation.

There are some of us who are actually really good when it comes to pattern recognition puzzles. I have a high success rate defusing it and can do it fairly quickly. The fastest guys I know are @Drakos and @GetToLaChoppa they do it so fast it’s supernatural 🤣

Whoever triggers the alarm should become primary target. So if the predator thinks triggering the alarms is a good strategy, then when they return, they’ll be taking the extra damage. Is this going to be patched in. Probably not.

Realistically, the AI should shit their pants upon seeing a Yautja in all its glory and run away😏 I know some actually do run screaming, but they should all run! These humans are getting too ballsy.

If they reinforced with 1 guy left then the predator screwed up! Second wind is damn powerful for the pred side. You need reinforcements as they are if you plan on keeping people playing. This game is not only about 4 man PC death squads. Even the increase in time it takes to use reinforcements and has people leaving a lot…
FT’s supply can be destroyed, a good predator does that. If the FT kills boars, they just serve a dinner to the predator. FT can argue that if they kill boars, they stay dead and pred can’t use them but that’s another discussion. Predator can get a TON of pigs. I’ve seen clusters of them. Now the fact that they don’t spawn… That is another issue with the game. They should be spread up and spawn the same number of them every game.

How much do you win? Its more then 50%? Then it sure looks fine to me man! You try fighting a PC predator when you end up with PS players in randoms. See how “balanced” it is. Now don’t say those don’t matter, this line of though help reach the que time we got now. I got almost 14 days of play time on EPIC. If the predator is good, he wins most often then not, when he lose he still claims some skulls and I do think that is fine. You claim some and some escape.


Instant detonation if someone makes a mistake is a HORRIBLE idea. Just lock the computer if you make a mistake. I don’t want people blowing the entire team up on purpose with such a mechanic.

Yea if the pred triggers the alarm the ai should go for him many times I’ve been overwatch completely away from the fight yet the game will send ai directly toward me even though I havent fired a shot yet I find it ridiculous

Yeah. There should be some kind of aggro metric for each individual player. Makes no sense that the ai just knows where everyone is despite no line of sight or sounds and shooting through bushes and smoke. If this game wants to last beyond all the new releases the next three months, it will need that.

So, I’m just addressing one section here the: “FT have never seen a Predator before…” line. Obviously Dutch 2025 has, and has some dialogue when interacting with the bomb to mentioning how to deactivate it.

Also, according to the ‘Prequel’ book Predator Stalking Shadows, there are FTs that train to deal with Predators. Dutch trains entire teams to hunt Yautja, and they go to places where they think a Predator might show up. So, in my head at least, all the in-game FTs are actually trained to deal with these situations.

Speaking of Dutch, do you think we’ll ever get to see the female Predator that gave him his scars and wiped out his unit? As either a Free or Paid DLC later? Maybe even a new weapon like the dual bladed combi-glaive that can also split to become 2 1 handed glaives? One can hope I guess 😁

Definitely, probably payed but you never know maybe she will be a level unlock.

I hope so. The description of her in the book, and the way she acts sounds so good. Strange though because she obviously wasn’t there for the hunt, she was there to prove a point to Dutch, “We could kill you if we wanted.”

Yeah I agree which is why I hope she comes in as a playable class but not just another female stock skin with new armor I want her to be unique in everyway especially if I may have to pay for her Samurai Pred is cool but beyond the armor and katana its just the normal stock pred underneath missed opportunity to really drive the japanese influence home like IDK give him some unique looking mandibles or a different coloration pattern, something…I hope they put a little more time into her if/when they put her in…also new wrapons are always nice 😜
