Call for cooperation: Sister Frieda at level 54 DS3

Eh.
Ppl said lost or forgotten king was hard, to me he was one of the easiest bosses.

I feel it’s just you’re outa practice honestly.

Literally escaped my backstab 4 times in a row

I had the backstab animation play it just didn’t go through. Like in PVP.

Also I think you underestimate your own skill

Eh.
I mean I use magic on bosses but typically I just rock sword and shield for everything else.
A bow as well.

Magic aside tho, once you learn patterns I feel dark souls games become easy.

But damn, I find that funny, she just negates the back stab lol.

Kinda wanna fight this boss, but I’d have to rebuy ds3.
I forgot I had it on disk and traded it a long time ago. She sounds fun.

That’ll do it

It varies boss to boss but most people use sword and shield, me included, on bosses which means having to stay close after combo’s instead of just backing away

The bow also trivializes non boss enemies

I was able to cheese both a Lothric knight and the master swordsman with a short bow Because the A.I can’t handle it ranged attacks

But even when you do use the sword and shield, most enemies are just buffers for the boss meant to eat up Estus

aside from maybe DS2 and certain DS1 locations

This is making assumptions of course on what should be happen. I’d need to see you play to know for certain

Well ya that’s the point. The actual gameplay comes from learning an enemy. That’s why an easy mode would suck because there’d be no reason learn anything

It’s not intentional either

The playthrough I’m watching (they’re doing a specific hard route so I’m following along so I can also do the hard route) and they basically say just spam the backstab

Doesn’t help if she’s immune to backstabs though lol

You could also share play the boss if your interested

Try out the Cathedral as well which is a early mid game area if you don’t recall

You’ll have to put up with lag but it’s one way to do a demo

And before I make myself look bad this dude has more stats, is dodge spamming like a casual, and a shield.

As well as 6 more levels of Estus

Then get a load of this

Beautiful

That is definitely harder than the forgotten king.
Almost makes me wanna buy ds 3 again to play all the dlc.

But ya I feel ya asking for help with that lol.
I wouldn’t be able to that on shareplay, for games like souls I gotta make sure there’s no delay lol.

Idk if it goes on sale, like super cheap I might get it again.
All the dlc too idk.

Working on borderlands 3 atm tho.

Well the point of share play was just a demo

No way I’d expect you to actually win

I was doing some research on DS for PC and I saw the option for both the original release and the scholars version

I know the scholars version changes enemy locations and integrates dlc items into the main game so which version would you recommend?

Normal. There was stupid changes in scholar.
Then try out scholar.

That may be why we sit on seperate sides of DS2’s quality

The critique I watched was on the SOTFS edition

I mean I put close to 500 hours on the original.
Not scholar.

@Finessology

There both good, just the original was better.

Besides whoever you watched, if they said ds2 was bad they’re just fkn stupid.

That’s a decent number of people who are stupid then

It’s not exactly an uncommon opinion

I mean, the world is full of stupid people.
So nothing new here.

Ds 2 is good, if people dont like it, sure whatever.
But to say it’s bad?
Ya there stupid.

It’s a good game.

I’m max level on ds3. I haven’t played it in a long time. I’ve beaten her multiple times with ease. She’s easy in my eyes. If you need help it won’t be for a little while. But I could help you beat her very easily. But right now I’m playing Ghost of Tsushima. If you’re willing to wait. I’ll help you out in a few days or so. I’m only on ps5. So as long as you’re on PlayStation. You might be in luck.

Doesn’t the game over empthesize mob fights?

DS2 >

Iron Keep is the greatest pvp there ever was

Isnt that every single souls tho?

Like no sarcasm, being serious here.
Theres always groups of enemies in those games.
Almost any game now that I think about it, even non souls games.

Youl find tho, dark souls 2 is the easiest one.
But I think thats just cause how well the game played.

Theres honestly nothing I can think of that is bad enough to ruin the experience of ds2.

Not really

Sure they all have mob fights but even DS2 fans, at least the ones I’ve seen aside from you, will admit DS is at its best in one V one fights.

DS3 even have screamers whose purpose is to punish you with a generic mob fight

In the first game, the first intended enemy encounter outside the asylum, the design is specifically done so that you can bait one V one fights even amid groups

Not that group fights are inherently bad. Fights like Ornstien and Smough are designed specifically to seperate them.

Either use Smough as a meat shield or bait Ornstien away from Smough.

Of course that’s what all mob fights are like but there’s a difference between just having a lot of enemies and designing enemies to play around being a mob fight which is my impression of DS2’s fights

Not that these games were perfect with mob fights either.

In the tomb of the Giants there’s just a square room with multiple enemies that you can’t lure away

Duke’s archives is kind of generic with it’s mob fights relying on generic chokepoint strategies

Anor Londo ruins ambushes you with ghosts out of nowhere trapping you in a room with no environment to help you out just like I’ve seen with some DS2 mob fights

DS3 has the two Lothric knights after the dancer that fight together (though that’s more of a mediocre mob fight rather than a bad one though)

In general early DS3 is generic mob fight. The real appeal in the early game is the Lothric Knights and giant undead that you can lure into a one V one and the bosses

DS2 at least to my knowledge also takes the mob enemy idea and puts it into bosses as well where the other games the majority of bosses are one V one.

Not that there aren’t a decent number of one V one boss fights but there’s more mob fights then the other entries

So even with the bad mob fights the stars of the show still come in at the end which is the most remembered part of the series

But when you have fights like the royal rat vanguard and the spider church being generic mobs in themselves even the stars fail to appease players.

Though I’ve heard that Freja has a mechanic where if you have a torch it’ll keep the mob spiders away

If that’s true that’s genius for a mob fight

The idea of having to give up your left hand for light was always a good one so I’ll give DS2 that.

With DS2’s torch timer mechanic this also adds a time frame to the boss unless you stack up on firefly’s which rewards preparation much like buying poison moss before going to blightown

If I were to design a souls game I’d drastically reduce the amount of mob fights and any I did have I’d intertwine their A.I so they work together, so it’s essentially the same as avoiding a combo from some one like Friede, it’s just two separate sources for attacks, unlike a mob fight where one enemy can cover another’s recovery, who then covers that enemies recovery, or roll catch you

At least a generic mob fight
