Can we change some animations for Predkour?

I mean all around, Predkour is absolutely terrible in almost all aspects. The one thing I’d like to suggest is to replace the “dismounting” animation when on trees. Since day one whenever you dismount from a tree you just spazz out for a second before plummeting to the ground it’s just so jawbreakingly jitterish and not smooth at all and I think it was a very bad execution in my opinion.
Any other thoughts from my pred brothers out there?

I think Predkour as a whole needs an overhaul/rework. It’s too slow and janky to really be useful in any aspect. I’ve only ever used it to jump into a tree while actively being watched, only to run in one direction to make myself visible before leaping the other direction so that they couldn’t see me. That’s literally all that I’ve ever used it for, aside from the occasional time where I have a height advantage and can get away with it. The only other time I think I’ve remotely used it is to scurry up a tree to scatter the FT’s aim ( since I play on PS4, most of the aiming that I’ve encountered is pretty terrible, so I can get away with doing it ).

But all in all, I agree, some of the animations and the like need to be tweaked. If anything, in general I think the Predator should be much faster in the trees than they are now. Quite often the Predator is described as being fast enough to make getting shot hard. I’m hit very often no matter what I do in the trees, even if I’m moving. So I think they should have a movement speed increase to a degree.

I think the predkour is just dumb. The predator can leap 100 ft yet he can’t jump up to a tree branch? Makes no sense, plus like u said, it takes too long

You can totally jump from ground directly to a tree branch, I do it all the time. Its just line of sight/is weird/bad so unless you forces yourself to get the hang of it, you don’t see it.

Branch to branch is also staminaless and very useful for getting away in cover/ out of sight extra quick.

Running the branch ehhhhh its got good and bads.

The bug I see the most is leaping past the tree when i wanna climb it at an angle.

Other than that its a nice split second cover to recoup some energy and break LoS for just a hair of second.

I rely on it a tool to maneuver but not the end all for it.

Needs work? Definitely.
Needs a rework? Wouldn’t go that far but it can do better with more flexibility.
Remove it? Absolutely not.

The Predkour in my eyes needs a bit of rework to the point where they add more animations to make them more fluid-ish and realistic… and also add an option to slowly dismount from tree’s to not lose invisibility

The fluidity of the “4 way” sections of trees needs better response to directional input.

Branch jumping while it works fine when it works, I know so many more branches are in range but just don’t prompt.

Same thing for ground to branch jumps, they work but fine but are a pain to detect/set up.

Initial jump to main tree trunk send you flying past it at offset angles.

The paths/networks of trees can be made better without creating and “2nd floor”/“catwalk” preds can hide in for complete safety.

And can we PLEASE get some new cinematics for Predator wins, Fireteam wins, helicopter rides (there’s a stereo, so where’s the damn rock n roll!!?). The screen where the Predator holds the skull aloft at the end of a Predator victory is meh now…and why can’t the PREDATOR see the damn cinematics of the long claims at the end of the match, like a kill reel or something. It’s awesome as Fireteam getting to see the Predator rip our spines out in cinematic, but why can’t the Predator player get to see that too??

Slightly off topic, sorry. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure if this is an intentional mechanic, but during one solo match my Predator would stop at the end of each branch instead of jumping automatically. It actually felt much better, because there are times when I’ve been trying to get an angle on an enemy, turned around and it’ll jump automatically. When I try to turn back to get the shot lined up from this new position, it automatically jumps😠

Predkour is an awesome me hanoc, but need reworking for sure.

Short summary, predkour and trees are both death traps against snipers right now. There are so many bugs surrounding the trees that they can absolutely rip out the fun when you do something and the game decides to turn against you completely.

  • Want to strategically quick claim? Nope you were next to a tree, now you are in the tree (completely different button…). 30% of the time you claim the skull on the tree.
  • You thought you could eat a pig? Nope, now you are in the tree.
  • Want to shoot your bow while in Predkour? Yeah… you aren’t really standing on the branch like the game is showing, so now you melee on the branch ripping you out of your cloak
  • Oh you thought you could jump over the fence? Nope… noticed that tree, out of sight, you were also “kinda” close to? Now you are jumping that tree.
  • Oh you want to get out of the - death trap - tree? There are no natural ways to do that, you can’t even use the regular jump to jump of the branch.
  • Oh you thought you could move a little on the branch? Nope, now you are at the other side of the tree because the animations completely hijack control of your character
  • Oh you thought you could jump that branch? Nope some of these trees have angles that deny you to climb the tree
  • Oh you are seeing the “climb tree” trigger, yeah… now you will jump towards it, but miss the tree entirely flinging you through the level.

Also, there is the leap function. Which will mess you up more than you’d ever imagine.
