Pretty much, but can be modelled after something and changed a bit to not infringe copyrights. Of course again they still can’t use anything from AVP without having access to that IP which requires an agreement from the owners and funds to do so. Which after seemingly blowing the budget on Arny, the IP for this game, and funding just to keep this game running I doubt they could afford to have access to the AVP IP. If they use anything from AVP without permission it could result in a lawsuit which in turn would instantly turn this game belly up much like F13

That is true. But who knows at this point. We can never be certain. After all they’re always blabbering on about how they’re excited for the future of this game and what’s in store so could be that, could be something else entirely. But if they’re working on Scar’s plasma caster and Scar himself then that must mean something is going on otherwise they wouldn’t be tinkering around with it at all. Maybe they’ve got the rights to use the license and just aren’t telling us. Or most likely they’re too busy on figuring out ways to buff the Fireteam and add a third Dutch and another guy from NFL.
Sadly, doesn’t matter what we want as long as AVP, Predator, and Alien are all kept separate IP’s. Legally can’t touch one another otherwise risk of lawsuit and ending anything, aka this game, that it does.
Mr. Black yes we will probably see. Fugitive predator, yes. But, after that any predators we will see will be either historical or from potential other movies to be made. But, AVP wise and Alien wise won’t see anything unless they come up with the funds and permissions to use them.
Could be, but doubt they have the budget for the IP. They did pay a hefty price for the Arny likeness and using and NFL player probably wasn’t cheap. IP alone for this game probably wasn’t cheap. Hence my feeling that is why game is so buggy. They blow the budget on expensive Ip’s and cosmetics and now don’t have the funding for better optimization and servers in general.

Pretty much, poor budgeting, marketing was poor, and Highly expensive IP’s they shouldn’t of worried about till later and focused more on making a great game and marketing so massive player base and then when they could afford those expensive IP’s brought them in to make it even better.
I honestly feel it wasn’t very well planned out and if they had done it in that order we would of had a much larger player base, better content, and better game overall. But, it is what it is can’t be helped now. They are still going the same route aka another expensive likeness movie character when no one asked for a third FT back to back.
Yeah except the guardian mask from predator 2 is essentially Celtics mask. And they can slightly change the patterns on wolfs mask and we can have that too. They can try and use these as excuses but they aren’t. They could give us the content we want lol
Still, too close to the likeness can result in a lawsuit. That’s the issue. Hence why they aren’t trying to test it. Honestly don’t think they want to lose another game due to a lawsuit of any kind and are trying to be cautious in what they do.

Yeah, you can still be sued for it. Several cases on numerous things for having too close to being like the original can result in a lawsuit. Doesn’t mean it’s always noticed since some are so obscure and unheard of they don’t get caught. And honestly it’s probably a good thing they don’t listen to the majority of the community because half the things I see people try to come up with on here are absolutely stupid.
And regardless of what you want AVP will not come to this game nor will aliens unless they pay and get permission to use the IP’s plain and simple. People asking to turn this game into AVP honestly are just as bad as the ones who beg for JH87.
If you want to play AVP go play AVP 2010 or AVP 2000.
