So, I’ve been playing a few games recently, both with close friends of mine and against randos. From it, there’s a laundry list of things that may help out, but above all else, I feel like we should see a tweak or, worst case, an all around rework of Impenetrable.
The reason for this is, with all games, people see the “meta” and find a way around it. In this case, 70% of the FT players I’ve gone against have all spammed explosives: grenades, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers, Pair this with the Unleased Specialization and Yautja’s Bane and a single rocket can reduce one’s health down to a 6th. And, unfortunately, there isn’t really a counter to this; get sighted once, they’re turning the area into a Michael Bay movie. They run out of munitions, friends bring Ammo Bags. Thus, they’ve largely left Impenetrable useless.
There’s also those who spam Melee but…a quick Netgun stops that. Sure, they may rage, but it’s their fault for trying to rush with a knife.
Back on track, I feel the perk should be tweaked to, at the very least, include the same, 10% damage reduction to explosives as well, therefore reducing their effectiveness and giving Pred players a better shot against teams who all run explosives. Or, at the very least, add another perk that reduces damage from explosives.
This way, everyone wins: Pred mains don’t have to constantly be bombarded with explosives and be chased down much of the matches, and FT mains can still use explosives, with the risk of it not being as effective. Is this a perfect idea? No, but it’s one that could help things out, especially if they want to release the Gauntlet mode, as what stops the FT from all going explosive and game ruining?
Also, my bad if my tone sounds hostile here; today’s been a bad day and the few matches I played’ve done little to improve that.
