All of it are just excuses. You only need the best of the best when you are playing highly competitive against extremely good pred players

This would be fine if there was a way to separate the FT. There isn’t.
I’d say pred should be “OP” in a 2v1 scenario at minimum, or at least have the capability of getting through a 2v1 and turning it into a 1v1. As it stands now though…that is not the case.

Yes both sides need a damage reduction.

just ask potatoes. you will always have one guy who hears the pred coming and says 'fuck this im going for objectives while the rest can be pet food". This ALWAYS happens in crossplay randoms. One guy is ALWAYS left fending for himself.

It’s either you reduce the Damage output of every Class, on BOTH sides, by 10-15% or you buff Fireteam health across the board by 25-50HP and buff Predator by 500-1000HP across the board. Preferably I’d take Health buffs to every single class purely for the good PR and the fact buffs are better mentally for a community than nerfs and promote better reactions & discussion. But ultimately nerfing damage or buffing health serve the EXACT same purpose and reach the exact same goal. It’s just how you want to handle it from a PR & community standpoint.

But I totally agree, there shouldn’t be one shots in the game on Predator’s side, and Fireteam shouldn’t be able to do half the ridiculous damage outputs they currently can in the game. Game balance is overall really healthy, probably best its been across the board in ages, but damage is definitely way too fucking high for both sides, and also the parry system is fucking ass and needs to be changed because even someone who isn’t good at it like me has been able to stunlock Predators to death with it and kill Hunters in as little as 6 melee strikes with my Izzy.

Really easy to spread them apart. Start shooting plasma and see how they start running in all directions trying to find you.

Again, don’t expect it to be easy against premades that are actively communicating and know what the hell they are doing. But be honest, how often do you face pre-mades? 1 out of 10 matches? And pretty sure even against pre-mades you have pocketed wins. Sure, there are teams out there who may seem “unbeatable” to most players… well… so are a few Pred players who are unbeatable for most teams, even really good ones.

you can’t balance the game around the top tier… and if a really good player has problems dealing alone with a zerker potato… I’d say the game is pretty well balanced as it is.

There are some broken stuff on both sides. But if I have to be honest, most of the broken stuff for FT is a last resort for good players fighting an unbeatable pred.

I’m pretty sure if we all go supports with thick skin, med packs, ammo bags, FM, etc. we would beat (though probably not kill) players like flashgordon, dan, blade, orbiter, riktig, etc. but it feels cheap and boring. Where some of those players love to go disk, plasma one shot builds.

the problem with health buffs is that medkits and syrettes already have a predefined HP value for FT but not for Pred (boars and medpack restore full health). Nerfing damage is better in that sense, because buffing health will be in favor of Pred.

Boars actually don’t refill 100% of your Health. They only do roughly 90%. I’ve eaten plenty of boars that leave a noticeable gap in the bar.

I think is a bug. I’ve seen it happen, it has happened to me, but not consistently.

But I think Healing Items should be retooled alongside Health buffs too.

Make it so in map Medkits & the Gear Item you throw down refill 100% of your Health Bar as Fireteam, but Field Syrettes only refill 50%.

And on the Predator side bump Medkits up to 3 by default and make them refill 100% whilst lowering Boar heals to 50%.

When you buff Fireteam HP by 25 to 50 each and Predator HP by 500 to 1000 HP and employ those Healing Option changes you’d fix pretty much all the Damage output problems in the game without having to nerf a single class, receiving praise across the board for buffs to everyone’s favourites since EVERYTHING gets a buff, and stop the game from becoming too tanky by reworking Healing Items to be more consistent on both sides.

I think it should be the other way. Syrettes already heal 150HP which is full health on most classes, plus you mainly use them when you are at 50HP, which should be okay. Medpacks should require more than one use to regain fullhealth, like the ones you throw. That gives preds a chance to destroy them before you can fully heal.

Boar heals for pred are fine. You have to go too far to not risk getting killed. It should be rewarded with full health.

God I wish this was the early day of the forums when itdidnt feel pointless to discuss balance and issues about the game.

Like nothing against anyone here on the forum, but I Just dont really enjoy tryna bring up or find solutions for balance issues, and new content ideas.

But while I’m not against lowering both factions dps, as i can see that making sense, right now the problem is that an individual ft has pretty much the same or technically higher dps than pred.

So maybe with lower dps all around things might feel better, hard to say and I dont see a point in testing it, since illfonic doesnt listen.

Btw, dont forget, most of what I say with ft being broken or whatnot is from me playing ft.
Not from my pred side.

Also, I meant more as a way to distract the other ft while fighting one, not really killing multiple at once.

syrettes heal for 100hp not 150 as when i play izzy and use one at under 30hp they don’t full heal me

yeah, my bad, got confused there because I mostly play assault and when I pop one I alwyas go back to 150.

When I can separate a premade, via an in game mechanic, isolate then 1v1 long enough for a kill…then okay. We’re good.

Potatoes can learn. While everyone may not be top tier, they don’t need to be in order to stick together and push off a pred. Combine that with quick missions, you’ve got the death match game of pressure we all currently enjoy

Yeah, missions and maps are too inconsistent. I guess is a “luck” game as well, but that I believe is part of the " balance" … there are missions which are long and full of AI that will deplete most of your ammo.

These tend to give bad preds a chance, which is good because, this is how they learn.

I think that was illfonic’s “throw it at the wall and see what happens” fix. Longer missions and more AI instead of proper balance between Pred and FT. I prefer the longer missions on bigger maps like Airstrip and HQ, as those matches can be a lot more fun than blitzing through a mission on one of the 3 original maps.

HQ is a performance mess though. I get dips from 130fps to 35… which is ridiculous

They’ve balanced this game around potatoes (majority) who don’t even know how to mud up.
Any decent Pred player will have no trouble at winning those matches.

Missions that can be done in 3 minutes when matches last 17 minutes are just kinda stupid and need to be reworked IMO.
