While that is an issue, when it does run smooth its a perfect map. Big enough, plenty of spaces that give advantages to both sides. HQ and Airstrip have really brought out the game I feel in a way it should be played.

Yeah but that’s the trick like I said. Given enough time and experience potatoes can develop into solid players. When enough of them do, the balance swings when it’s built like that. I’ve come across more than a few random teams of solid players lately.
I know a few Epic players who are playing this game over a year and they are still potatoes, both as FT and Pred. Today I played HQ map as FT with 2 PS players (4th dropped out), Pred was a potato, he was shooting something at the other base after 7 minutes in the match.
I see one PS4 player running towards me and saying “Pred is on meee” but he wasn’t at all, so I popped my mic and politely asked, “Why don’t you shoot him back?”
The answer I got was “You’re new to this game”, I asked again,
“Well if someone is shooting at you, why don’t you shoot back?”
The same dude became all salty, started throwing insults and shit, so I asked again, different question “Dude, what were you doing for 7 minutes? You killed 5 AI’s, while I killed 29 and did the mission?!”
In my opinion, potatoes are gonna be potatoes bro, decent players can become good and great players, but like that dude today on PS who’s “OG” to this game, been a potato, still is a potato.
0 dmg to Pred, 5 AI kills in 7 minutes, wasn’t even with 2 of us who actually did the mission and called the chopper, started running like Forest towards me when Pred started killing AI’s 300 meters away from me and him.
No I agree, some aren’t going to grow. I’m not saying some squeaker who pulls out a minigun anytime the pred clicks is gonna turn into the greatest FT player to ever hit the jungle.
There will always be potatoes and some will always be potatoes. We shouldn’t balance around them anymore than we should top tier elites. I think now, with the playerbase what it is, there’s enough meat in the middle to find the right balance. So long as we deal with other game mechanics like mission times and AI.
Probably too late but…just my opinion
I honestly think Illfonic moved on from this game in terms of everything except for milking via paid cosplay DLC’s.
You are welcome to such a nihilistic outlook, but I think you’re so, so wrong.
I don’t want to believe that
But I can’t rule it out all things considered. Hopefully not…but time will tell
I’mma be real. The nihilists have NEVER been right about this game.
They say the Servers are dead when people are still getting games every 30 seconds as Fireteam and 6-7 minutes as Pred. DLC/Big Update comes out, population gets even better, they’re proven even more wrong. Cycle repeats for that one.
Lawsuit happens. They say the game is dead and gonna shut down. Doesn’t happen, Illfonic themselves say nothing has changed and nothing does, everything continues as normal.
Illfonic hire like double the staff they had before HG came out and announce a new game separate from it, they say the game is gonna get killed off again. It does not. DLC & Updates continue as normal, Illfonic announce the team is still working on HG and all the new staff are basically on Arcadegeddon.
Same shit, different week.
It’s not nihilistic outlook / opinion. Just look at the facts. They drop content, untested, bugged, bugs get reported and those same bugs remain, then they drop another bugged content with more bugs, without even fixing the previous one’s.
I’d like to be wrong, cause I like this game, but I’m just looking at the facts and how they keep treating this game.
Same here, I hope I’m wrong, but like you said, time will tell.
There’s a difference between nihilistic and pragmatic. @FromTheHood isn’t being nihilistic here he’s simply taking in account factors that do indeed point to the worst possible scenario. It’s absolutely not unreasonable considering Arcadegeddon is built solely for a next generation platform and can be improved upon over a longer period of time than PHG built on a system that will slowly be replaced over the course of the next 2 years. It’s a business and the decision always falls to the bottom dollar.
As I said earlier, time will tell.
How does this affect you dude? You are on PC LOL!
IMHO what we as PC players call bugs happen to the PS but less so for us.
Which means im 1/10 less angrier than they are.
Its true, bugs happen because 3D video games aren’t pixil to pixil perfect. Haven’t you ever used software before?
And for the most part, the way they treat their game is the same as any 30 person studio would. They just dont have resources to fix everything within a day.
Im looking at an attitude that understands that Software development isn’t like fetching a pail of water.
They do eventually get to it, but if they don’t work it out before the end of the month, it gets pushed to the next end of the month which is how most companies work.
There are of course hotfixes to splash cold water on a bunch of hot headed fans who don’t understand shit or understand it through the eyes of a 10 year old.
You are truly sad and pathetic…
Bugs are shit you encounter like 1/30 matches. Yet you are compelled to bitch.
@Cadillackid not to mention that their new game is 100% theirs, meaning there’s no 3rd party involved, pulling the strings.
It’s only natural to focus more on something you own 100%.
Mass, I’m on PC, so? The same bugs exist on both platforms, both platforms are getting the same content, the same Dev team works on that content.
I’ve used software for the past 22 years, guess what, some studios actually care about their products, while other only care about profits and quick cash grabs with minimal effort.
I’ve heard the same bs “30 ppl studio” from EA and BioWare, it doesn’t mean it’s true.
“30 ppl” Illfonic made a totally new game while they “didn’t had the manpower” for PHG content. Bro it took them 7 months to fix regen mask exploit that I’ve reported back in October/November, with audio and video, me explaining how it’s done.
That’s far more than “1 day”.
Id like you to state how often they happen and how angry that makes you. From my perspective, its sounding like its resonating beyond the cosmos. I for one, have been playing every day. …bugs are rare if any.
I haven’t encountered a bug in like maybe 7-9 weeks. Something like that. I seen others get bugs but not me. And if I do encounter a bug? No biggy, it’ll be either fixed by the end of the month or the end of next month. Small team, it is how it is. Game dev isn’t simple, take it from someone who actually studied it.
Yeah but when they report it, they make my windows shatter. Like its aching their testicles.
or something horribly wrong is going on inside their stomaches.
At the end of the day they just gotta understand shit will be fixed when it’s fixed, welcome to game dev. You move one plant and 38 different things break, so keep that plant there, etc. It’s a fickle thing.
Someone should shatter your testicles and do humanity a favor to prevent you from breeding
thats how coding works. By the time it gets to the consumer, its working to a satisfactory degree, so long as you dont jump into the crack of a tree or do some got forsaken random act of bullshit. When bugs happen i’m not thrilled but i couldn’t put my finger as to how it happened or why.
Sometimes people don’t understand WHY things happen and say it happens ALL THE TIME.
Like how movement for pred gets stuck on second winding in a building. Why does he gets stuck? I don’t know. At least i’m not reporting it the way people are like its fucking happening all the time. Cuz it doesn’t.
Its just that there are people like Cadicalackid that are rotten motherfucks who can’t get enough attention online where he is certainly a middle aged foggy with no children and half-ape wife.
