cloak effectiveness.

I know a lot of players, and I mean a LOT of players have complained about it, and brought this up, but I feel I need to do the same.

It’s way too easy to see a cloaked pred.
This is coming from someone who likes to snipe as ft.
It’s a joke how I can see a pred coming from a mile away.

Not only that, I’m sure you guys changed something, cause it never used to be this easy to see a cloaked pred on ps4 before.

All I ask is that you make the cloak harder to see like, after 75 meters. Or 100 meters.

Like maybe 50-60% harder to see.

And 25% harder in general.

I have been noticing the difference as well on PS4.

I think cloak visibility\effectiveness at distance is a good idea.
Could be very mechanically difficult to implement though, as that means the “cloak” effect is not a static effect present on the Predator itself, but is instead generated by each player individually based on their distance to the Predator.

I’m not sure how it works, but I’ve just been seeing preds way too easily lately. And it really isnt fair, given how much damage sniper rifles do.

Ya my buddies said the same thing too. It’s just unfair how easy it is to see a cloaked pred.

100% agree.
I’m at the point where unless you’re not moving, you might as well not even have the cloak on.

It still works ok up close when you’re moving around alot. But at a distance… hoh boy. Easily seen.

I got a few clips I’ve saved showcasing it. In one of them I’m even saying how its unfair how much the dude is sticking out.

When i play pubs as a pred i barely using cloak because of the clickin shit

That’s another thing that needs a rework.

I like the clickin but its too directional…i think devs never play this game lol

Yeah, it feels like it.

If the Pred cloak is visible to the extent that you understand that it is a cloak and not BLACK in colour and intensity its done it’s job. It eventually becomes invisible (thats the logic) if he remains still for long enough. Its conveyed the importance in you knowing that it CAN cloak.
For you to complain that the predator isnt just a floating pair of eyes is an insult to people playing this game who want this effect and waited for the effect to be in a predator game cool enough to experience.

For you to say I want it 50% frustrating to see also doesn’t make it valid. Who wants to squint and tell other people I 'thought i saw something-don’t know where it is ’ rather than ‘I saw it cloaked-if I stop looking it will be gone’?

But from far away at least that’s how it should be. Easier to see when they are closer that has been shown many times. From far away though? The “I think I saw something in those trees over there but I’m not sure, shit…” is literally one of the only moments of legit suspense felt by any human character in the series, lol. Up close the light refraction/distortion is really obvious but not far away.

Sounds good Fire, it has been actually suggested before by myself and many other players that cloaked pred should be progressively more transparent with distance. So further away he is from you, less he is visible, to the point he is completely invisible at 250-300 m distance. This would render low graphic exploit useless. Also, this progressive transparency should be directly connected to preds movement speed. This would finally allow us to sneak up on FT. Finally, this will never get implemented quz I’m preete sure by now that ALL of the devs ar FT mains.

I concur, trees are nearly useless because spotting cloaked Predator is so easy.

I think the visual method is spot on for the film, but the amount of silhouette displacement we see should become less evident with distance.

For instance, a Predator leaps from a tree branch to another (aside from branch shake and foliage dropping) @ 100 meters or less his cloak displacement should be what it is now. But @ 200–300 meters it should be less apparent. And @ 300-500 meters it should be very difficult to see.

I hazard to think anyone ever notice that while cloaked infront of a clear bright white sky, the pred is virtually invisible even while moving (FT Member being less then 10 meters away)?
And that the shape of openings through the forest lead your eye to imagine that the pred is there but really is an optical illusion (FT member already has enough to look at in the jungle)?
Or the fact that physics fundamentally describe all objects with mass that is not lit by photons will bend light around it so that it is still detectable so that nothing is truely invisible(as it is currently is more true to realism than fantasy)?
All these fun facts and you’re worried about what one FT member can do by spotting you in the trees from 500Meters away. Really? Do you really need to go full invisible from that far away? Will it make a difference? I think not.

I just want to put my two cents on this @Courier tag specifically because its a strong point I wanna make.

So its really easy to see across the map.

Like base to base distance.

I was using a Holo scope on on the 7en and nailing hard hits cause you can see the Predator across the map while his cloaked. Doubly if he’s on a roof and the sky box clips.

I get light refractions and all but this is my comparison - the Predator looks like an off shade cardboard cut out moving in the distance.

I can see easily from far away when they go for pigs and heal and crouch. From hip fire and through holo. I can only imagine how easy it is with a bigger zoom.

At 300-500 I would say completly invisible

Well, i tested with my friend this cloak and light around Predator was on him and he was a blue, white or other color, but not HARDLY visible. Just a model with color on that
