Complete the Mission vs Stand Your Ground

Hey all! I had a REALLY FUN game last night and I was curious how most of you play.

Basically, I was playing as Fire Team Support. I really enjoy playing as the support class and always roll with medical kits, ammo and use the launcher that fires the motion detectors as my secondary weapon. I also utilize the quick revive and try to stay on top of keeping the team alive and well equipped.

So anyway, we were moving through the map then suddenly started taking on heavy pressure from the Predator (whoever it was was AWESOME). It was an Alpha Predator who started to attack while we were at a base with multiple structures. What was awesome was that the entire team, rather than running around in a panic, formed up a tight formation in the center of the camp and began putting hard pressure right back on the Predator! There were times when one of us would go down but I was IMMEDIATELY on top of them for the quick revive and patched them up. It was an extremely fun back and forth between the Fire Team and the Predator that it really made for a great time! In the end, the Predator wasn’t able to win us over as the fighting continued even as the clock ran out, which was unfortunate.

My question to you is… when you are working through the map and completing your missions, when the Predator starts to attack, do you move on or halt and stand your ground against the Predator?

I tend to notice that if the entire team works together in fighting off the Predator, and puts the mission aside, that it makes for a really fun gaming experience and you will stand a great chance of success. However, if the Predator starts attacking and people run in all different directions in an effort to rush the mission, you most likely will end up dead.

Like I said, it was a REALLY fun match. The whole Fire Team and Predator were made up of unknowns (no bots) but they all did an excellent job and were great in their rolls!

So how do you handle yourself when the Predator starts to attack the team? Thanks all!

200 IQ option of brainlessly autopiloting the mission objectives while my team dies because the pred and AI are shooting them.

masterful

The only time thats even a “playstyle” is when everyones ragequit and you’re stuck with bots.

go shoot back so its a 4v1 instead of a 3v1. even if you’re blind and miss almost everything 1 nade or a few bullets are the difference between winding the pred or not.

or help someone 2v1 instead of 1v1 depending on how bad everyone else is. They don’t even need to land all their shots, idc if theyre spraying with an LMG as long as they’re shooting for a couple hundred dmg.

no reason to just keep spawning AI on your team or camp a building. go kill that space nerd.
The missions are just there as a win condition against a passive pred.

Depends on how the Pred attacks. If he’s some PS Peasant sitting in a tree casting one or two uncharged plasma shots at nothing, I keep going. A lot of the time the rest of my team will stop and engage, which against a potato is useless but what do they know.

If he uses plasma but is actually intelligent about it, I’ll engage. What’s funny is usually these examples are reversed; passive Pred, I’ll push the mission while others engage; aggressive Pred, I’ll engage while the others run away. But like Fitness said, one grenade or a flurry of bullets can make a huge difference.

Now, if he does what most of them do and try to melee…that’s my favorite, because I use my team as bait. I always stand my ground against melee attackers, because that’s where 99% of my downs come from. Let them attack a teammate, rush them, unload, 7-8/10 they second wind, chase, boom.

The true mission is to kill the pred. Stargazer is a smoke screen to send elite troops into the jungle to train them to be yautja hunters.

Люди сильнее всего вместе, как славный Советский Союз! Ни один мерзкий инопланетянин не сможет победить нас, когда мы работаем вместе товарищи!

Exactly. FT is out to kill the Pred. It’s a “Hunting ground”. Hunt or be hunted. If the Pred is not good enough compared to the FT, either he’ll die or leave. The mission is another way for the FT to get a victory.
