fireteam as a whole is overpowered, period. it takes skill to even land shots with the plasma caster because of the bolt velocity and nerfs to splash damage

Well i never said Fireteam isn’t i love playing pred and it annoys me sometimes to loose but that dosent change the fact that it is overpowered

the splash damage got reduced in patch 2.50 (before you got the game)
and yes, you can indeed just aim body. but its not as easy as it seems. the aiming laser is a dead giveaway that your charging up the caster and all the fireteam has to do is jump around it. and once again, bolt velocity. im not sure if an uncharged shot is faster but i know for a fact that a fully charged plasma shot travels pretty slowly, especially at range. very hard to get direct hits, especially against good teams.

I think its, what, 120 damage for a direct hit with a fully charged caster shot? That sounds great on paper, but it is so difficult to land that hit. You will almost never get a direct charged hit unless they’re trapped or mudding up or standing still for whatever reason, or just lucky. And yeah, all ranged Pred weapons are projectile based, compared to FT which is 99% hitscan, so to be any kind of accurate you have to have a level of skill.

Ok I will just agree with all you said but i won’t change my mind at the end of the day you play like you want personally i love the challenge of melee its more difficult to md
more with down range. put a spec like stalker or something on that and it can oneshot most classes

You may well have been completing the objective. It doesn’t change the fact that you literally mudded up & hid for at least 5 mins of the match, and you certainly didn’t attempt to do the mission for at least 2 mins because I didn’t hear any objective completion audio cues in that time.

And no, my progression didn’t stop 2 years ago. I have continously got better & improved areas of my skills over the last 4+ years by playing against the best players in the game.

147 Base damage for a direct hit
155.82 with Down Range
179.193 with Down Range & Either Stalker or Analytic if they both have a 15% damage buff
It should be able to peak at 186.984 damage if you’re running Down Range & Assassin and you land a direct hit to the back of the Fireteam player
I find it so hilarious when people get mad or confused as to how I one-shotted them in Private Matches, the first thing they do is message the PSN Group & go something like “1 shot Plasma 155HP???” And I always have to explain the damage numbers & how they went down because I hit them directly. There’s a large payoff if you can master trajectory judgement with the Plasma Caster & hit direct shots. The problem is if you don’t hit them directly, it will probably do fuckall damage because splash damage & splash damage radius is non-existent.
They should make Plasma Caster variants. I started a concept on that so I might finish it & make a topic on it soon.
