If you can’t finish this episode don’t bother watching episode 2 which is also free

I would like to watch episode 3 and all subsequent episodes

I grew up with the original movies and spent the majority of my life living in the area it was filmed in so I’m obviously biased

Take everything about the 80s movies and what made them awesome then but ridiculous now.

Then take someone from those 80s and literally have them skip the last 30 some years.

Roll camera and enjoy

Pretty much above but you’d also have to be pretty knowledgeable about the Classic Karate Kid movies since there’s a lot of returning characters.

I sure don’t. I mean, if you like hyper-sexualized teenagers beating the crap out of each other because they’ve become black belts after about 3 weeks of training, you’re in luck. That’s about it.

QUIET!!!

If you saw the original movies you would automatically want to see how the story continues. So… watch the original trilogy, that will convince you. And watch The Next Karate Kid for that matter, Hilary Swank is hot.

Never even heard of them

If you havent watched the OG karate kid movies (1-3, we dont talk about 4) then you might as well not watch Cobra kai, as while it does give flashbacks to keep newer viewers in the loop, its just not the same.

However, assuming you have done that, let me just say. This is one of the few shows that does character development extremely well. While not every character will be relatable to you, every character is relatable to someone, almost guranteed. And the feeling of relating throughout the story is what kept me coming back, not just the karate.

Going beyond that, Cobra Kai was the last show I ever watched with my father before he passed away. About half a year later I began watching it with my girlfriend… Well… Former girlfriend. We had just finished season 3 together right before she broke things off with me. Of all the shows that I could have shared with the two people in my life I loved most… I was glad it was cobra kai.

Nuff said.
