New player here. I could really use the help. For example, why would you choose the Valkyrie over the Scout? Or why ever play the berserker when the Viking is available?
Could someone please expain the pros and cons of each predator?
Viking is slow, but he can tank damage with the right build
Berserker has more gear slots than any predator and is pretty tanky however there isn’t really enough gear for preds to make it viable against a great team.
Viking is more tanky and has more perk points than zerk and overall is just better however both of these preds can get melted pretty easily by FT damage output if you’re not careful.
Valkyrie is a tankier scout that hits stronger melee wise and is perfect for hit and run however her energy output and regen is far worse than scout. Scout has more perk points than valk but she has more than enough for a decent build.
Oh, thank you. Any thoughts on the other Predators? Like, Original, Elder, and Alpha?
I choose Valkyrie 'cause it has a better health pool, full stamina bar, it’s a smaller Predator (harder to hit) and it’s a bit slower (not much) from Scout.
Valkyrie with Fervent spec slaps hard if you stack it with downrange for Ranged build.
It also hits hard if you run Ghost spec with Fearless for melee build.
Scout is decent with Disciplined, but any proper experienced player is gonna spot you and delete your HP bar in a second if you’re not careful.
Zerker has more gear, Viking has more perk points and bigger HP pool, so it can take more dmg.
I don’t play with those two or the Samurai, 'cause if you drop in swinging with your sword, you’re gonna get melted by any team that have decent aim.
Regular hunter is a jack of all trades and is a strong class overall.
City hunter is also a jack of all trades and is a bit better than regular hunter.
Elder is predominantly ranged class due to having the largest supply of energy out of all the others mixed with his specialization stalker he can do serious damage.
Alpha is a mix of scout and hunter and is also great for hit and run especially when paired with assassin and the sickle.
Samurai is a difficult class to play. It has good melee damage and is fairly tanky but pretty slow and limited in perk points.
@SkooLBoY_SkePtiK has a website that gives all the detailed info on all classes and weapons on this game.
It’s going to depend on your play style. Just try shit out
Valkyrie is by far the best all around class.
Decent health, movement, stamina, energy and slim target. It’s what the Hunter should have been.
Fixed that for ya.
pros you go bew bew cons FT bews bews harder lmao
Every class has stats and specializations that you’d build around. Everyone has a playstyle and not every Predator works for that playstyle. You wouldn’t use Scout for a melee for example but you’d use Hunter for pretty much anything because it’s good in every category but doesn’t excel. It really depends on the player and how you deal your damage.
My Hunter build goes;
Tactician - Increased damage to trapped, netted, or interacting FT
Net Gun
Elder Sword
Healing kit, motion detector, wrist launcher
Large Pouch, Trapper, Impenetrable
The reason I don’t have a bear trap compared to a motion detector is that if you’re running Net gun you’d stay mobile. Hunter has fairly decent health and Impenetrable at least gives me some confidence I wont be torn to pieces. Hunter also has decent stamina so unlike a Berserker or a Viking I can leap and run away like a little bitch should I walk into the wrong room. Elder sword also does fairly decent damage but since Net gun is my primary and I run Tactician, I can keep enemies off me while I deal with the others or I can pick off enemies with little to no resistance. I fight like a little bastard.
As far as different builds and play styles, on my twitch I have a series of videos called Predator Rotation Hunts where I play as a different predator each match, and I play every predator, as well as different specializations, weapons, and gear.
Oh, I’ve been reading your guides, bro. I’m already a fan of your work. I’m gonna watch those videos after work. Thanks man. The community has always spoken highly of you, and I can see why
Awesome. Thanks. Hope you enjoy the game. Lots of flaws, but there’s a core element that’s unique and engaging.

Zerk
Con: low stamina and stamina regeneration, lowest perk points, only damage boosting specialization (Brute) is not helpful
Viking
Con: low stamina and stamina regeneration, slowest movement speed and you’ll have little chance of landing melee on fireteam players using double time
Sam
Con: low stamina and stamina regeneration, only average health, low perk points
Scout
Con: Lowest health, less melee damage, Low gear if you like traps or motion sensors with audio decoys
Alpha
Con: Lowest energy reserve with medium energy regeneration
Valk
Con: Low health, Low gear if you like traps or motion sensors with audio decoys
City:
Con: you can’t not equip the wrist Launcher, Low perk points, only one other gear item besides the healing kit can be chosen
Elder:
Con: Low stamina, strongest perk requires you to not leap too much
Hunter:
Con: you look like a noob
Alpha cons can be low Hp and energy reserves.
Jungle Hunter 87
Cons: none.
Pro: most balanced stats overral
Zerk
Pro: extra melee damage I guess, has more Hp
Viking
Pro: same as zerk but more perk points.
Sam
Pro: extra melee damage, ghost spec, Hp I guess
Scout
Pro: fast, high stamina, high perk points, disciplined spec
Alpha
Pro: pretty much same as Scout but 2 less perk points, extra melee damage, assassin spec.
Valk
Pro: decent speed and stamina, ghost spec
City:
Pro: high energy, decent speed, stamina and hp. Analytic spec.
Elder:
Pro: high energy, Stalker spec, perk points, gear points
You’re right.
I’ve found the most success with builds that allow plenty of mobility for hit and run with maximum damage output. So usually hunter scout or alpha with damage based specialization and perk paired with adrenal. Third perk is usually modified reserve. Damage perk depends on weapons. If I’m running disk it’s going to be down range. Combi gets down range too for the throw.
