The money has been made
There isn’t a single thought of PHG from Illfonic let alone Sony
See, the way IPs work with games normally is formulaic
X+GAME=Y ; where X is the IP and Y is the guaranteed revenue from brand recognition alone
If the formula satisfies the publisher (Sony) then the project will be green lit
And the developer (Illfonic) gets enough money to fund their next project or in this case, projects.

Just like the game, sadly
I can’t believe someone actually asked me if I’m gonna play Ghostbusters.
Seeing how PHG ended up, riddled with bugs, broken lobbies etc, no thanks.
It was a fun game that had a decent start, but when they started rolling out content after content without even testing it first, what PHG became was (still is) a bug fest that barely works.
