It was tried but it was found to increase the Predator que time’s.

No, and there’s a specific reason for that.
The que times.
If they incentivize player to play as the Yautja/Predator, then no one picks fireteam, everyone basically gravitates towards predator because it’s a “predator” game.
But as an asym game, you need a balance. Fireteam gameplay is pretty basic FPS, so there’s not much incentive to just play it unless you want to either style on the predator, or grind VT.
It used to be in beta, that the predator could pick up the VT pickups around the map too, they figured out that if it was easy to earn VT as pred, not many would pick FT, so they locked down VT gains to be primarily a Fireteam Only thing, and added the daily/weekly challenges to help incentivize people to play FT more.
TL;DR: No one plays fireteam unless incentivized to do so. Daily/Weekly VT bonus is that incentive.
