I like how you conflate using mechanics there when what you are defending is exploitation of programming errors to allow you to bypass the actual mechanics themselves. Yeah pro gamers don’t tend to have careers for very long when they do shit like that. In fact the tournaments usually have explicit rules against that snit and some go even further than that like in Starcraft 2 the tournaments had rules limitting how many nuclear mussels you could deploy in any given match. Pro gamers typically actually face MORE restrictions, not less and the whole reason is to foster a more competitive environment so we are actually being pretty mild in comparison.

your literally describing tier classes and weapons and thats due to the nature of developers creating imbalances, they use poor game testers but also 20 game testers isnt gonna determine the entire nature of what is tier1 to tier3 vs millions of gamers who will inadvertently discover this. and later on it is usually remedied with the devs fixing or removing. this is a common practice in fighting games.
using exploits with full intentions which is an oversight by the devs is still cheating, your literally breaking the game to obtain a far better edge over your opponents. using macros to give you a competitive edge is cheating.
well the diffrence is in some games programming errors become mechanics ie animation cancels in streetfighter and in fighting games more restrictions is usually consider worse/less fun
albeit this is apples and oranges and i’m just trying to explain to you the perspective of people like me who only care about winning

They don’t become mechanics, they become meta. Mechanics implies deliberate design and intent by the developers and such. But if the animations are left in, even if the cancel isn’t addressed, that means not that the exploit is intended or accepted but that they simply are neglecting it. Some of this shit can go quite a while before it is fixed or maybe they have to basically redo the whole coding to fix it and that presents its own problems so it they decide to leave it until they figure something out or whatever. That’s not a mechanic, that’s a flaw in that mechanic. Very different concepts. Now if they actively make that into its own thing then that is one thing but simply. It fixing it isn’t an endorsement. Silence is not consent ya know?

Yeah queues can be rough for pred. Typically 7-10 mins for me which I can live with. There’s also a ton of bugs we can rage at :D

I met @deanimate today in a match. He was one of the 3 Predators today that came close to whooping our ass. Technically we haven’t lost a match in 2 weeks (no predator win), he was one of the 5 people who came close the last two weeks.
He didn’t even abuse the leap slam to do that. No, we had two new players we just met a few hours before. Honestly, he came very close to winning if he didn’t get the stamina bug and we didn’t have two members who didn’t give a fuck about that XD

Anytime I see FT members crying about balance or leap smash I know they are bad. Just shoot him mid leap and it cancels the damage. A decent team will almost kill the pred anytime he gets close, do you really need a 2 second stun a major ability too?
Also shoutout to deanimate, remember him from evolve. Good player.

One of the best trappers in Evolve if people are wondering and definitely one of the best Behemoths.
Once more a FT main claiming skill of Predator is irrelevant in any given situation if a ‘decent’ Fireteam can immediately snap into him and fire a decent chunk of rounds into him mid leap regardless of prior visibility or not. I have literally never seen this happen on any side and this myth you guys are peddling about it cancelling it I still have seen no evidence for. It would take much more than a decent Fireteam to hit a leaping target they might not even see initially leap so not only not do they have to hit a fairly quick moving target but have a narrow window to do so, especially if they did not see him initially leap from behind a wall or some shit, with about a dozen rounds before he hits the ground with the smash to supposedly cancel it. Unless you are using aim bot or are a pro league player this is hardly a reliable strategy against any remotely competent Predator. And that is only average not even good. Hell even that PC Fireteam that Deanimate showed himself just non stop leap smashing that largely lasered the shit out of him even they never managed to cancel it, and he’s trash and the only reason he even survived was because of him cancelling the animation so he wasn’t stunned.
So you don’t agree with it having a stub period so you are just gonna cheat and bypass it? Well I don’t believe the Predator should be visible during cloak and oh look there is a glitch that allows me to be 100% invisible at all times without cloak. Totally fair right? That’s just ‘competitive’ much in the same way that a monopoly is good for competition oh wait…
The funny thing about how stupid you guys are is that if I go on another thread with some kind of broken Fireteam exploit and condemn the use of that you’re gonna call me a salty Pred main that is trash because he doesn’t like fucking cheaters right after calling me a FT main because of condemning the same shit on the Predator side.
