Both games flopped. Predator Hunting Grounds flopped just like The Predator movie.

i wish evolve didn’t fail. i followed that game years before it came out, only to have it instantly flop because of ea’s greed.

Game was dead on arrival because the solo player was the objective-heavy role. That’s literally it. The dlc and powercreep and phase 2 were all just symptoms, not the problem.

Turned the gameplay loop into a hide and seek flowsheet.
Everyone talks about how much they miss it and how the DLC killed it but they don’t remember how it was dying before that because no one wanted to play the monster. Or how annoying it was eating stuff over and over waiting for a bar to fill up because if anyone caught you ever enjoy getting lasered at stage one.
Literally had the team-based role had any incentive to do something other than chase the monster around so they could melt half its hp and cripple it the rest of the game Evolve would probably still be alive. It’s like if DBD made the Killer fix all the generators & the 4-man’s goal was to just hit him with flashlights as many times as possible.

That game had a great dev team and no reason to fail as hard as it did but they couldn’t foresee the problems. Every asymmetrical has learned from it’s failure since.

Predator Hunting Grounds is asymmetrical and doesn’t seem it learned anything. Yet ,anyway.

Predator hunting grounds doesn’t drop the predator in with the goal to kill all the AI on the map and then just tell the fireteam to “haha hunt predator while hes claiming AI go”

So i’d say they learned something.

  1. It has learned 1 God damn thing out of many other problems. It is by far not enough.
    I’m giving it so much hope but I don’t know for how long. If I don’t see a solid patch for , and I can’t stress this enough, AT LEAST MATCHMAKING, I’m gonna put it to rest ,like others will, and move on to other things.
    It’s a good game, the idea is good, but so was Evolve’s.
    I mean, hold my hands I can’t wait to play PHG so I can listen to 2 audio tapes. And later on use a pitiful shuriken (if it ever makes it’s way into the game).
    If the next game mode is gonna be basic competitive, I’m out. That’s gonna be the last drop of disappointment.
    All I want is something solid, I’m giving it a couple of months at least. I’m bored of playing the same mission, on the same maps, killing the Predator everytime, not to mention not playing as Predator because of long queue times and no preference sucks.
    Don’t get me wrong, I want something fun. A new decent game mod would satisfy most people because they’ll be able to cycle through them and not get bored. For a few months-1 year anyway.

There’s still hope that illFonic will fix their game but with that attitude why hope at all.
I’ll agree on you with the movie tho it was ok in my opinion not like the original or Pred 2

Yeah, I have hope too for this game but as for right now there’s no reason not to say it flopped. If it’s gonna change the situation it’s in ,I’ll say “Hey, it flopped but it’s finally back on track!”.
Until then I have hope but I’m not gonna lie about the state of the game either.

Y’all are so whiney. In what world is this playerbase dead?

Game is buggy, not broken. You can’t claim something asymmetrical is broken without scientific method. Team sports? You can claim they’re broken since both sides have the same objective and tools to complete them with. Asymmetrical? It relies too much on the players. Too many variables.
Playing with randoms as FT? Pred is OP.
Playing against a party as Pred? FT is OP.

There isn’t any constant. They’re all variables, every single game. So until we all party up with 5 and rotate each roll for a studyable amount of matches, you can’t correctly call this game broken or imbalanced. Buggy as hell, yeah. But not broken.
