oh okay thanks i was worried for a second i played a game that did MM on your skill and if you were outside the average it could take literal hours to get a match , not an exagerration there were a few of us that got outside where everyone was and would have to wait a stupid amount of time

It’s like a skill based matchmaking.
Basically so you play vs ppl your skill level.

But bots would be more challenging. Even if it’s just from stats. Plus they’d still have funtionallity of players like classes and the rocket launcher that the A.I don’t have so it’d still be more interesting.

Look man.
The majority of us who’ve been playing from the start, don’t want them to waste time adding bots or single player.

If the game is going to shut down. Then sure, add it for those who want to still play.

But aside from wanting bug and a lot of other things fixed, not including balance, it would be a huge waste of time and a horrible thing to focus their attention and resources on.

But the main arguement, which I’m pretty sure you can’t even disagree on, is that illfonic cant really make good a.i.

So without good a.i. how would it possibly be fun?

This is a misconception. It wouldn’t be a waste of time because it wouldn’t require the entire team to work on the mode like people think it would. It would require someone to program the AI which in turn also benefits the multiplayer by adding bots to replace people that leave the match prematurely and just smarter AI in general. There is very little downside to adding a simple bot mode like people think there is. Unless of course it’s single player challenges with cutscenes and voice acting etc. Then it would. But if it’s just the modes we already have but with bots then it wouldn’t be as time consuming as people think and it definitely would not take anything away from the multiplayer. It would only add to it.

Either way we know they’re at least considering the idea and have possibly worked a bit on it. Given the whole pausing solo private matches, objective checklist on the tutorial etc. I know I mention this a lot but somebody’s gotta keep people hopeful and Illfonic aren’t doing a very good job of that.

I’m sure there are people not on the forums that would like to see it some point in the future. I’d wager there’s a fair chunk of people who would buy the game just because of it and try out the multiplayer after a while. So that would end up supporting the game and keeping it going. Most of the people requesting it do seem to be mainly on the forums and to be fair there is quite a bit of people requesting. The only reason there isn’t as many as there was for Friday the 13th for example, is because this is a pretty small community. I’d imagine if it gets bigger there would be more people requesting it.

I mean have you seen most of the Fireteam players? A majority of this game’s playerbase seem to play like it’s their first time playing a video game so that’s not saying much lol. But seriously though, some people want this option not because it’s easier than real players but because it gives them more breathing room to play how they want and not have to play sweaty every match. Nothing wrong with people that just want to play casually. I would also bet that playing against a bot FT will make you feel more like the predator, hunting and stalking more than the clunky, clashing of action figures that is the multiplayer could ever do. And some people want that feeling of hunting and stalking when playing this game but they get disappointed when they realise the multiplayer is just bunny hopping like it’s Fortnite and only shooting the caster if you want to have even the slightest impact on the match.

So in short there are many reasons people would want a bot mode like internet being down, playing casually, feeling like an actual predator etc. Not just because they’re bad at the game lol.

I hope my rambling helped you see why people want the mode.

Yep, people want bots cause they suck vs people.
Not a good enough reason.

I’m all for it if the game is getting shut down.
But theres no reason otherwise.

I think people would be fine if it wasn’t added until the last update. But I don’t think it should never be added like some people think.

Again, people want it not because they suck, (I’m sure there are a few people out there that want it because of that) but because it gives them more ways to play like maybe they want to play private matches with their friends but there’s only 2 or 3 of them. The bots could fill in the empty spaces so the match they play doesn’t feel as dead and quick. Stuff like that is why people want them.

It would only take AI programmers, not the entire team. And let’s be honest what the hell are the AI programmers even doing right now? Do they even have any? If they’re actually doing something that’s going to help the multiplayer then fair enough but I think you and I both know they’ve not done shit as of yet lol. Probably just sipping coffee looking through the forums and laughing at us. So it wouldn’t kill them to actually do something productive. Like what are they doing right now that’s so important that they can’t work on AI fireteam and AI predator? Because they sure as shit don’t seem to be working on the AI we already have because they still suck ass.

But you’re right, if the AI sucks then there wouldn’t be much point, so they should be working on improving the AI we have now first and then they’ll have enough time to make AI preds and AI FTs. But either way they’re not going to get the level designer to stop working on the new maps to work on the AI that’s just not how it works lol. So yeah, it still wouldn’t take the whole team.

You have a better chance of 2021 being a good year than illfonic fixing the game. For real though I hope they put their heads down and work hard to make this game better next year.
