Difference in Melee weapons

Is there any actual difference between using melee weapons or your wrist blade? I’ve tried all of them and other than the combo stick there’s seemingly no difference between melee weapons, none seem to do more damage or anything noticeable as there’s no stats to compare. The club says it easily defeats weak prey but I can’t even one shot pigs with it. So what’s the real difference?

All of them are shit except for the combi stick and even then it has a high stamina cost.

Wrist blade and stick only viable melee.

they all do different damage numbers and use different amount of stamina and have different reach, but they are all similar.

Combi-stick will generally be your go to.
However… not all melee are equal.

The Elder Sword is the first you unlock, but its usefulness is moderate unless you’re going Zerker+Fearless. Due to the multiple strikes and the way the math rounds out, the damage output is actually significantly higher than combi stick. More importantly, it also sports the best Slam recovery animation of the set and allows almost normal walking speed during swings. Seriously. Try it out if you have Zerker. You might be surprised.

The Combi Stick, as mentioned, has the advantages of long reach, large cleaves, and ranged utility. However, unlike all the other options, it has the worst recovery animation on doing a Slam attack by far. The slam attack, for note, does 98 or so damage without fall off in a large sphere.

The War Club. Not even once. Slow swing. Less damage than wrist blades. Poor slam recovery. And a really, really dorky windup on the third swing of a combo.

Disc. A decent choice for those of you out there using a game controller. Middling to bad for mouse users. Melee damage? The worst of the set. The disk itself is also destructible so care should be taken where it gets stuck. But at least it has a middling slam recovery.

Well. I know you can use the wrist blades at anytime. So, if you’ve got your Plasma Caster out. You can still use your wrist blades. So it’s strength is its flexibility.

Elder Sword is good until you get the spear, once you get the spear, it outclasses everything no matter the build you have.
