Different ranged damage for different preds.... (balance post)

So Rather than this being a flat damage difference… Maybe certain preds should be better with certain weapons? And thats the way to balance extra classes like Elder pred.

So heres a quick “for example”.

Scout pred, does 120% damage with bow, But only 40% with combi-throw and 70% with plasmacaster.

Hunter does 90% with all

Zerker does 110% with combi-throw, but only 25% with bow, 50% with caster.

Elder does 100% with all. (but the health and armour etc balances it against hunter).

Thats a 'for example", these numbers can be tweaked, but to also give each class a damage stat, rather than just mobility and health).

You might be into something here. If fully fleshed out it would make each pred unique but it could remove the choice to play how you want

Yeah ill probably re-write this when less drunk, give me 24 hrs lol.

(but the fact i can come up with a balance idea while shitfaced, that people at a game dev studio cant do while sober is annoying as fk).

Me not like at all. they all should do same ranged. But the melee needs adjusted based on second wind and stamina… if predator suck at both… close range dmg needs to be higher.

Agreed

Ft 1000 combinations.

Predator fat, thin, and in the middle

nah i think you missed the point, this is another way in which to balance each pred type.

If all preds do same damage with all weapons, then it just comes down to Speed, health and stamina. Which is far too plain and 2D for a game that relies on asymmetrical balance.

Currently hunter is king, it just is… But if scout did more with bow… and zerker did more with combi-throw… it opens other options.

The fact its Fat/Thin/Middle is entirely my point, the factors need to be way more complex

Wrong…
You give each predator built in perks
Like dithered lense
More melee dmg/ faster melee swings
More complete cloak
Silent step etc

Perks don’t stack so it opens up more play styles for each class

Erm… not wrong?

Built in perks could also work, but that then means to rebuild the whole perk system.

That being said, the current perk system doesnt do enough, the extra melee or ranged damage, is sorta useless. Its like 5% of something shit.

Sounds like an awesome idea!
I like it!
