Thats the way politics have been for quite time; it’s easier to point out shortcoming of other candidates than showcase own minor successes. And they’ll keep doing it too. Every few years it’ll be a flip from Dems to Reps and so on once the side in office draws enough anger from the public. They are content to do this like it’s a natural law that must be observed.
It’s also works as the system intended, as the two party system purposely does not allow third parties to exist. Dems and Reps in no way want another competition so they’ll pull whatever dirty trick they can to ensure it falls.
It also doesn’t help that third parties like the limp dick Green Party doesn’t do anything to create a grassroot movement on a local level to eventual grow up to the state level, and then a national level. They keep aiming for the presidential run and every time unsurprisingly they fail.
The level of fuckery that is going to happen in the next 4 years is going to hit hard…

As far as Trump being less than qualified, wouldn’t the Congress mitigate some of this? They’ve been around and should be conscientious enough to know when things are taken too far? I think Reps did reject some of his proposals during his first term. Maybe not intentionally, because I remember how they couldn’t agree about the extent of repealing Obamacare.
Trump literally didn’t run on any policies either “I have a concept of a plan” his actual policies as far as we know are increasing taxes for those making less than 80k a year and decreasing taxes of those making over 200k a year

Deportating immigrants (which we need to do the hard jobs because NO more well off people are not going to do them we know this already it’s why there are still unfilled jobs today because there aren’t enough people)
At least Kamala was going to continue the status qou of making as many peoples lives better as possible just like Biden did
By improving infrastrucure (he passed a bill for that)
Giving familes a tax credit of upwards to 5k (which eh passed)
lowering unemployment (we are at an all time low)
Lowering inflation (We are the highest performing country right now according to inflation rates)
passing a bill to improve our border by increasing the amount of federal judges and border Security
(which was halted by Donald Trump because WANTED AN ELECTION ISSUE TO RUN ON

where he then threatened Mike Pence (which is why his career as a politician ended) and started a riot on the capital to try and enforce his will upon our country to coup the goverment to maintain power

With control of the House and Senate, Republicans are going to have a lot more power in pushing their agenda. Sure the fillbuster exists, but it’s not going to be enough. Democrats should have been acting on the needs of the people and working alongside progressives rather than dismissing them as pie in the sky chasers when so many studies and experts have said time and time again that their policies would have helped start things on a better path.
Unfortunately house Democrats are more concerned with lining their own pockets and supporting wars overseas. They are beholden to their donor masters to keep the status quo. Why? Because what regular people want runs against their goals of capital accumulation. For these liberals, capital is sacrosanct, doing whatever it takes for the elite, which both house Dems and Reps are part of btw, to get their fattest piece of the pie no matter what. They mock and suppress progressive values and start pushing for more wars alongside Reps overseas. They were always enemies of the people, which is why I kept begging for people on the right to not fall for this stupid Culture War bullshit. It’s always been smoke and mirrors to distract from the fact that it’s a Class War all along, and making us beat ourselves over it. Women and LGBQ+ leads in films are not making things worse, companies and politicians getting away with corruption is. I will never understand how they think this is correlated.
Thats the big one, these monsters will ensure actual huge changes will be blocked for the next decades. These positions are for life, and I cannot fathom how much bullshit they will let slide while shutting down actual positive life changing rulings.
