Sounds like a ripe time for folks to actually understand, care and influence policy. We got protests and riots on the way.
Dems lost the Working Class almost entirely. Record amounts of Minorities went over to Trump this time too. Genuinely what the actual fuck is the plan at this point if the vast majority of the working class & rising numbers of minority groups are abandoning the Dem’s cause? They gonna keep the same strategies? Even changing up at last minute to legalize drugs wasn’t gonna work because everyone & their mother knows Harris hates drug use & it was a panic play.
Maybe they should keep calling poor White dudes nazis for wanting cheaper food & lower taxes. Call a Black man an Uncle Tom because he didn’t wanna vote for Harris. Hell why not jump on the train of saying Hispanics & Latinos “get what they deserve” for “voting against their interests”. Dems have no plans, no real groundwork to gain support from other than “We’re not the other guy & other guy bad”. 8 years of identity bullshit & demonising voter bases has led you here and even now there’s no introspection on why the Democrats are losing ground.
Trump isn’t even somebody I would ethically support at this stage because I believe he’s a Nonce and want him legally executed for that. Big focus on LEGALLY there because I fully believe the moment those foiled assassinations happened he secured the win. But the policies he at the very least says he will bring to the table are clearly resonating more with the common person than anything the Dems have had to offer in nearly a decade.
Maybe if you all stopped settling for “the lesser of two evils” and that bullshit and started caring more about your local elections & grass root movements we wouldn’t need to have this convo. right now i’ve heard three ideas of which i figure one is absolutely gonna happen
- great divorce we come to an agreement to split the country in half for 8 years let both countries run domestic we do not engage with foreign policies during this time one half will be run by rep’s one by dems figure out which side of the country has greatert happiness at the 9th year we come toegher with a vote the losing side loses the right to vote for 10 presidential terms
- No more politican candiates: From now on Democratic candidates will be celebrity populists like trump but their VP’s will be typically politicians clearly populism is capable of moving a base and spewing memorable moments enough to keep public attention it is likely more effective than actual politicians use the VP and cabinet to run the actual presidency if you win the Pres is truly just a cheerleader
3.Democratic party begins to engage on simaler levels of missinfo that the repubs do fully endorsing and accepting alt media related to their cause for the purpose of marketing and riling up base
Straight up i do not believe the strategy republican’s are doing at this time can be defeated by good morals and a gosh darn honest try like we’ve done in the past the establishment just doesn’t work unless there is a crisis to force it to happen like with Covid

Both sides want to win and that’s the path to victory. A better candidate just won’t cut it against the one that has less restraint.

Problem is that for many folks think they aren’t criminals, so they have no reason to get on this until it happens to them. At that point, immunity from prosecution means that they’ll get away with everything and since the right blindly supports this via Blue Lives Matter, despite all the evidence of police corruption, it would be a miracle for them to see “immunity from prosecution” is a fascist policy.
If giving cops immunity of that scale doesn’t ring any bells of government overreach and corruptive power over regular people that the right keeps harping on what the “left” is doing, you are all rubes and will have the boot on the neck along side everyone else.
Cause you’re not hitting at the BIG core issues that’d unite everybody. You need policies from both sides. You need to address issues with “I hear you & understand your fears” rather than “I don’t understand, here’s some data on why you’re wrong”
Maybe its just me but from an outsider looking in you guys need a new party that takes the best of both Reps & Dems and chews them out on being old & broken.
There’s only so much the public will tolerate. Right not it’s police brutality here and there, but when it’ll happen every day for less than a good reason, I think writing will be on the wall for some of those cops. Although they’ll have immunity, I think they will learn that is better to rarely exercise that right. They won’t have any neighbors who’ll support them

It is not a case of both our parties are broken it’s that repub’s discovered effectively a cheat code in the system through populism and straight up lying in order to maintain public attention as to ensure re-elections and therefore maintain power
