I played a game with someone who thought it means there will be more players in the game down the road
My first thought was that whoever was 4th player(Delta) before me left for some reason and i joined instead, and the codename was slow on updating or something.
It seems to happen if someone drops out, then either another person joins or they rejoin the lobby. It just bumps to the next letter in the alphabet, it was probably an attempt at stopping you from loading through with only 3 people.

So there was the initial guy in the lobby, but he quit right away. then i invited somebody from my friends list and got assigned E.
Case closed. There wont be an official bump in the FT lobby for 5 FT.
