Encyclopedia of P:HG Slang

Good day tribe, adversaries et al,

I am interested to hear the in-game slang/vernacular you all have developed from playing this game. If I like some of your terms, I will probably start using them myself. 😇

I’ll start with a few, but the only condition for submission is that you tag at least two persons that can corroborate the use of the slang/vernacular.

Without further ado -

Vert/V/VT/Vbucks - Veritanium
Potato - an unskilled FT player
Bricks - Veritanium stack worth 500V
[a] Baby Pred - a new-to-the-game Predator
Brain-dead - a Predator who stays in melee for far longer than they should have/was wise to.
Melt - the act of putting a Predator into Second Wind and killing Pred before it can flee. A quick victory, a quick kill.
Wipe - the act of killing a full FT. Can also mean a quick FT elimination, or an overwhelming victory for the Predator over the FT.
7-Wipe - killing all but 1 FT, allowing them to reinforce, and then killing all of them. Results in a victory for the Predator.
Bot - a terrible FT member, usually a PS4 player. Called such because they play like an AI.
Radio/Reinforce - the reinforcement Radio. To be called out and tagged for later use when noticed, even if not needed.
Caster - a call-out to denote that the Predator is aiming his Plasma Caster, and you should take cover.
Body-block - the act of trapping a Predator in a room using your FT character. When the Predator is Second Winded, he cannot escape when trapped in a room. Results in certain death for the Predator unless mercy is shown to them.
Running [a] - a phrase to indicate which class you have chosen. For example, “Running a Field Medic”, etc.
T-bag/Teabag of Peace - an in-game act of crouching repeatedly to indicate that to the opposing side that you are not hostile. If accepted, the crouch will be returned. Once accepted, breaking the truce is punishable by death.
Parry boi/Parry kid/Parry God - a player who is exceptionally-skilled at the act of parrying.
Pre-made - a term to describe 4 players that have entered into the game as FT members. A Preds worst nightmare.
Randoms - a term to denote either a player not part of your Fireteam, or the Quick Play that you run on your own. Can also be called a “solo” or “solo queue”.
taking a pig/getting a pig - a term to describe the Predator consuming a pig and regaining his health.
fresh meat - a term to describe a new FT from either PC or PS4, can also be called a “default” (can be said once or twice).
chase/chasing - the act of pursuing the Predator, typically when they are in Second Wind status.
Wind - a call out to denote that the Predator has been put into Second Wind status, should be followed up with the time so the FT can track when it has returned.
Big-Mac - Berserker Predator.
Maxy/Double Big-Mac - Viking Predator.
OBJ - the map objective.
Farming V/Vert/VT/Vbucks - the act of picking up every available veritanium source.
camping a pig - sitting while mudded for an extended period of time waiting for the Predator to the killed boar so that he can be damaged or killed when locked into the feeding animation.
James-Cameron - the patron saint of both Fireteam and Predator players across the universe. Can be used to denote an overwhelming victory, or an extremely large set of genitals.
Sweatador - an extremely skilled/try-hard Predator player.
on me - a call-out to indicate to the FT that the Predator is attacking you, should also be followed up with your characters call-sign or color, or both.

Never have I used nor heard Vert, [a] Baby Pred, or Brain-dead(at least not in the context you used)

I use VT for Veritanium

I usualy just say V for Veritanium.
Potatoe can mean any unskilled player FT or Pred (more so for FT because there are more of them).
BRick is ok.

Melted would be an assumed term to mean what a Pred would be. You can’t get melted as an FT.

Pigs- Boars because no one calls them boars

Good additions!

I also use melt to describe the Predator being killed quickly.

A 7-Wipe is killing the full FT except for one, allowing the reinforcement, and then killing them again.

For each addition that we agree on, I’ll add it to the original post!

Caster = Predator is aiming or charging the plasma caster(tri-laser is visible), and you should take cover.

I always thought that while a FT member is on top of a dead FT member or a pred and mudding up, from others perspective it looks like you’re taking the blood of the dead and wiping yourself with it.

I dont know what to call it, but should be called something!

maybe…Blooding Up!

infact, Illfonic should really make it a thing and give XP points for it!

@Fire Fire just got smart.

Body block (pred in building), camping (pig, rooftop), PC cheater (a PC player who is really good), Russian FT cheater (a Russian speaking FT player who is really good), to carry a team (FT win comprising of one really good player and 3 news/potatoes), nerf pred (just about everyone likes to say this)

“Running a…” referring to specific loadout options. I.e. A Scout running a bow and net gun.
