i agree, but i also disagree if the Fire team is allowed to drop their settings to see the predator even while cloaked and standing still then i’d say the predator is allowed to slam spam. as is with how the game is atm if the slam gets too much of a nerf the fire team will go back to what it was like post update. so im worryed how ever nerfing how fast you can get back slam with the perks nerfing the animation cancelling. then i see it being ok theres nothing more that needs to be done to it its fair.
HOWEVER IF THESE CHANGES ARE MADE. the PC fire team players should have that exploit with the settings fixed IN THE SAME PATCH. then i dont know i still think support spam would be an issue so many a buff too the smart disc or the damage of the bow something along the lines would make that work.

again this brings me back too well seeing as you have exploits you can use too and theres no way to know that someone is going to use it the way the game is now ( i dont like it either but) if you dont keep all OPTIONS open then your asking to lose. intell they patch the exploits its just gonna be a battle between who can use them better.

what are you talking about? i did testing the most that thing can deal is 99 damage and thats if your using the perk that gives you more max power. if not its 95 so that number you just pulled form no where.
all an all i think your heart is in the right place but the predator needs tools too deal with play styles of the fire team and when the meta atm is hide in a cornner and watch the door as a support with thick skin using the lmg hosing the predator when he trys to use anything other then the slam that kinda, breaks the fun for the predator. i would love to stalk and hunt and stealth kill players but the game doesnt allow for it. the fire team has it made in most areas, you can hear him loud as fuck. you can see him moving in the trees clear as day. if they made him more stealthy that would fix some things but not all of it. they would then need to make more Objectives take place OUT SIDE to better fit the game for the predator.
other wise whats the point in stealth if you can counter it by hiding in a corner.
For the 400 damage, I think he meant if you caught all 4 FT in the blast for ~95 damage each, that would be ~400 total dealt to the FT.
But maybe that is the way to balance it? The AoE will do say 200 damage max, evenly divided up between every one in the blast radius?
1 FT = downed (200 damage just for him).
2 FT = about what we are seeing now (100 damage each).
3-4FT = still an issue that needs to be dealt with, but not as powerful (66-50 damage each).
Maybe workable maybe not. I guess it depends on what the exact intent/role the AoE is intended to fill.
This might actually back-fire and make the attack less usefull vs organized teams as they all rush into the slam’s AoE to help tank the damage though…
that would be 380 not 400 but i get your point. but also i disagree with damage spliting because then you got a new problem players would just use this to down one guy by landing on the edge of him you know? say 4 people are group up aim far away form the group and only hit the one guy by not letting the blast range reach them.

That is the most interesting idea I have heard on any change to the Slam.
I personally dont use any of that nonsense, all my settings are on epic/cinematic, I like my game to look pretty. I still get called a graphics manipulator though because I actually have eyeballs and know how to use them. I have played enough now to know the usual spots preds normally scout from so just watching these hot zones means its quite easy to find them. I am not saying that the pred should have this nerfed in the patch alone, I would like to see this nerfed but a lot of other things buffed (so long as it keeps the game fair) in the same patch. I dont want the preds to feel unplayable.

Glad we agree but the slam isnt stealthy, I am sure we can both agree to that.
I think @Draedark answered this one for me, but in a previous post I explain how this can take down 2 of the tankiest members of the FT in one hit (if they connect with all 4 FT) if the damage was concentrated, understandbly its split between 4 people but with one hit it can take the whole FT down to a level of 2 people HP factoring in that the pred can move straight after the “animation” cancel with the flash/slow, he could be sat on top of another FT member ready to swing and all it would like is 1 hit, probably for most of the other FT.
But getting back on point I think this all boils down to, get rid of a game breaking bug but make pred more powerful at stealth play and the like.
I think this is a nice idea but personally I dont like the idea of anything being an instant down. The leap slam is not really hard to use but to give it such a reward as to instantly down someone is a bit much I think, if someone got a head shot with a fully charged bow then thats fair game. Either it was skill or pure luck in which case I think they earned that, so maybe one hit down for every one bar support (because they are meant to be the tankiest on the team and shouldn’t really be able to be one hit down).
Sure, the numbers could be tweaked. Maybe something more like:
1 = 115 dmg
2 = 90 dmg (each)
3 = 65 dmg (each)
4 = 40 dmg (each)
Instead of divided up evenly, -25 damage per FT. But even if my numbers are bad, it looks like folks get the idea.
Edit: Addendum to this, space jam would always deal full damage to med kits/ammo bags/etc. and not be affected by quantity of objects or FT present.
yea but people do with is my point if people can use it then people will use it even if you dont theres still a good amout of people that will so this is how they have to play too fight that.
yup for sure, i dont like that you have to play this one some times but thats where it has come too.
again tho i dont agree with Damage spliting as no one is gonna use it for large groups witch is what it should be ment for. and i also disagree with getting rid of the fact it goes throw walls as its the only weapon the predator has to a team hiding in a building. but for the stealth? god yes. YES FUCKIN PLEASE i would love to hunt and stalk my pray.

animation cancelling is NOT an exploit stop white knighting this bs
animation cancelling has been a thing in videogames since forever and is frequently used in tournament/competative/high end play.
If they removed this animation cancel form the leap then this would be the first videogame in history (afaik) that has removed an animation cancel as these are widely considered to be a learned skill by high end players.

Predator should be unable to move after slam, this animation for reason. what you call “animation canceling” is ok only if you dont skip intended mechanics like reload/stuns/cooldowns, imagine if you can skip reload in CSGO or can defuse bomb and shoot at the same time, do you think they dont fix it right away? cancel and skip not the same. if you cancel reload but you still have 0 in your clip its ok, but if you just skip animation and have insta full clip - thats broken. in this situation by cancel this animation he skip intended afterslam stun/unable to move period and its not ok
Just to make sure there is no confusion, there was no animation canceling being done by the Predator (me) in the clip I posted above. The after space jam animation is quite short when wrist claws are equipped.
I cannot speak for the FT. There was one bit with the 3rd FT member were they start to saying something about reloading or providing ammo and it sounds like they just stopped abruptly mid sentence.
Edit: I take that back as it does look like I might slide a little bit after space jamming the stairs. This was maybe more because I was getting ready to leap immediately after, and not because I wanted to cancel intentionally. In this specific case though I do not feel bad about it if I did slide by accident. To be frank.

That’s kinda what I’ve been saying regarding the 2 exploits of slam…the roof slam is far worst to abuse vs cancelling the root in my opinion…u still have to finish the animation before doing anything and ur still exposed to being shot at mean while with roof slamming u just aim for anywhere that sounds good and are guaranteed massive dmg to however many are inside it with no repercussions or down side when it shouldn’t be possible in the first place since aoe/splash dmg is broken going through walls/roofs neither one of these should be a thing obviously but I don’t see how saying the root break is worst of the 2
I agree the AoE going through walls/objects will probably be nerfed because it is probably as fun for new/inexperienced FT as a zerker combistick rush.
It may even be less fun, as a new player may not even understand what is happening or where the damage is coming from.
