Why would anyone call this an “animation cancel”? The pred still does his entire animation after landing, he just slides around while doing it (I call that Ice Skating).
An animation cancel would have the pred skip the getting up animation and be able to move around using his normal traversal animations. As the game stands right now, this looks very unintended, which suggests it’s a glitch/exploit.
you guys try using hand caster in-between every melee swing yet. More broken
I got good news and bad news.
The good news is it is 8 seconds with cooling snycs and Energy Cell - which is my mistake probably on testing it before, I got careless, I shouldn’t cause its for science.
With out EC, its around 6-7 seconds, I wasn’t micro timing it.
For a Scout. Hunter can be up to 15 seconds or 12 depending on combos. But Im sure you already knew that.
The bad news is? I still don’t care.

This is animation cancelling and is very common in some games (fighting games are classic for it). One thing it absolutely helps is for predator to stand a bit more of a chance vs high level FT.
If it is removed that will be quite a nerf to predator which would be a real shame.
You do know as he’s jumping in you can shoot him out of the smash right? Enough damage and he will just land like a normal leap.
The hand-caster between melee strikes is the only interesting part of this thread. Is that on PC only because of easier/faster weapon change macros or can it be done on PS4 as well? What’s the loadout setup?
You just hit them with wrist blades with the hand caster equipped and tap fire it in-between melee hits when you want to bait parries and do more damage. Can do on console and PC, takes 2 minutes to learn and about an hour to learn to aim it right.
You’re both right and wrong. Ice skating is a nice name for it, but you’re cancelling the stuck animation. So half cancel?

It’s not working as intended as it lets predator player instantly move away from the center of the slam. Even if you are not allowed to attack the very same moment - it gives u the momentum to flee from FT while they are in a hitstun state and slowed down. You can either choose to close the gap between you and them or flee further away before you are able to leap. Normally it’s a high risk - high reward situation because if you are in a bad spot - you gonna get shot hard. Now it’s almost risk free because while the FT is stunned/blinded/hurt - you on the other hand “iceskating” outta there and making your next move.
Looks to me like the FT didn’t space out enough. Maybe the range on the slam should be tightened up a bit, but other than that, a good FT will be able to anticipate your slams and not group up so close.
It just the first few examples that I recorded. Got similar results playing in private PC matches against fireteams witch coms on discord. We have a big comp community growing up on discord. I have whole bunch of recordings if you need links just PM me.
It doesnt change the facts that its an exploit that shouldnt be in the game. Same as the slam exploit that lets Pred do dmg over building rooftops while FT are inside them.
And yes Im a Pred main. Just want the devs know whats up :)
Ok, so you’re saying the pred is using some sort of animation cancel and getting all their energy back super fast? I don’t understand. With the right perks you can get your energy back way fast, especially as a Scout.

Im also using Scout in this vid and even specifically said what perks I use to abuse this exploit even more. Not sure why you even brought this up.
To be fair the (whole) energy slam needs a good look at, to just leep in and out in and out tapping just 2 buttons L1 and holding R2 demolishing fire teams that easy with no skill borderlines (broke to fuck) lol

No it does not. The FT NEEDS to go out or they lose the game. This is an exploit where you can damage or even kill the fireteam trough WALLS so they have no way of even seeing you.
Yes, they have to be careful in the game which is expected. “Hey we 're all a bit banged up lets just go inside where we’re completely safe to heal” Fuck that.
Predator doesn’t get to just stop in the middle of a fight and heal, he has to move a safe distance away.
this isnt the way you should play predator :) it is a exploit and EZ.
imo the player in this video made a lot of tricky (read suicide) choices that normally should have killed him.
He is not even using the cloak correct and still wins by jumping on a roof :o
