Epic games launcher

I am trying to install the epic games launcher on pc , my son plays fortnite and he asked me if I could log into his game on the pc so he can claim a free skin .

I have downloaded the launcher but whenever it gets to the update stage , it gets to the point of installing prerequisites but then fails .

It says the self update failed and gives error code SU-PQR1603 .

I have followed troubleshooting and run it as administrator, I changed the properties so it is able to write , but it still isn’t working , if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

My drivers are all up-to-date and my pc seems to be fully up-to-date aswell ? Could it be my firewall? I am going to go and reinstall some windows files , but other than that , I am stumped

Did you try a restart of the Pc?
Or maybe does the drive you wanted to download it onto haven’t enough space?

I have all the drivers up-to-date, I have plenty of disk space and I done a repair install of the launcher and its the same issue. Could it be something like the firewall blocking it from updating?

Could be, because I got a firewall message on Wednesdays reinstalling the game again on my larger drive (ran out of space on the other) if I would allow the game to have access.

I will have to check in a bit , but the only thing I haven’t tried is that and completely deleting the launcher and files , then reinstall

I am just downloading the update and launcher again , I have turned off the firewall briefly, hopefully it works

Have you tried communicate the error on the correct site. Like on EPIC?

I got it working mate , I changed the target line of code to have skipbuildpreqereq or whatever the fuck it is .

It bypasses it and I have the game downloading now 👍🏻 . What a hassle
