Everyone on this site seemingly hates xenomorphs
I have watched covenant once, but I think I was probably stoned, I like Danny mcbride so it was interesting to see him in a serious role, fassbender is good aswell. I like all the alien movies (even number 3 for what it is). But I never did get the hype of the first, aliens in my opinion is one of the standout films of the series and I rate it above the original slightly. Avp was OK aswell but the xenomorphs were bad ass and the best part of the movie. Requiem was meh

I always liked predator but one night I watched it with a blunt, I was tripping balls and immersed in it and it kickstarted my love for it all over again. Understanding the cat and mouse aspect and seeing how jungle hunter laid it down, took the opportunity with Hawkins straying from the group, just like in hunting grounds 😁 taking out the big gun that was blaine, it was a well crafted movie

Requiem wasn’t even consistent when it came to plot devices…xenos were the worst effects/suits/animatronics of all the films. The only good thing to come from that dumpster fire was the predalien and wolf. That’s it

The best part was the 30 seconds on yautja prime 😁 the unmasking of wolf was good, predalien was different, but the cast sucked ass, in my opinion

My guess would be they thought it opened to a larger audience. Disney were rumoured to be planning a disney+ TV series that would have been pg13. I want spines and skulls getting ripped out through people’s asses, not yautjas skipping around and making buddies while making daisy chains

This is a difficult one to answer, as there’s many variables to factor in.
When it comes down to the movies, what I’ve noticed and it seems in any fandom will have this sort of situation, when someone voice his/her disliking to a movie, plot point, character…that person tends to default to “I didn’t like that and you’re stupid for liking it…and if I didn’t like it, now everyone should be aware of that and mainly follow me in disliking it as well”.
And at the end of the day it boils down to the way you perceive a movie/book, you had expectations towards it, you had perhaps previous experiences with the material…so what you like and expect from it will be different from someone else that’s also a fan of such materials.
Another thing to consider is, an opinion holds true to the person voicing it… meaning that people will always find numerous points to defend/attack a movie/book to validate their point of view.
For me the important is how do you feel about the movies/books, if you enjoyed them, it is because you had reasons to, they matched your expectations and it is fine.
I like all the movies and novels and comics, but that doesn’t mean I do not recognise that some materials aren’t spectacular…but you can always find something interesting on them…

I absolutely love the xenomorphs. Alien and Aliens are 2 of my favorite movies. Covenant however was just…confused and it’s mostly because Prometheus was completely botched imo.
Most of covenant was trying to connect Prometheus to Alien which shouldn’t have happened in the first place. If Prometheus had just been a strait Alien movie it would have made covenant a lot better. Instead you’ve got the engineers creating the Neomorphs and David perfecting them into xenomorphs which just doesn’t fit (not to mention ruins established cross franchise lore with Predators, but that’s fine they are two separate IPs after all in the end.) In the end it all just feels shoehorned to me.
This is just my 2 cents though, you can take it and if ya got $2 in your pocket grab a cup of coffee.

Perhaps a map where the Xenos are the AI. Say, the temples in the first AvP movie? That’s it though, strictly Predator.

That shit show? It’s community fixes more with that game than it’s developers. Avp2010 on ps3 etc was a great game for what it was. I played it up until last year on pc with mods and online. Good Times
