Exploring the new “meta”

Illfonic said multiple times how the new game mode will add a new meta to the game, and boy were they right!

In Hunt mode there are multiple ways for fireteams to organize and operate. Rush the mission? Hunt the predator? Split up at certain times to cause a distraction? Camp in a building? Camp ON a building? Have a sniper post up somewhere high? The predator had to hunt the FT and be patient. Using a variety of weapons and techniques to earn a maximum of 7 skulls. Very deep game mode where strategy was a major part of the meta.

Now with clash it’s just capture the hill. Run faster, shoot more, die less. The new meta is such a crock. No strategy what so every other than be faster than the other team. It’s counter productive to do almost anything else, or try to regroup as a team.

Spawn, run to hill, shoot, die, repeat.

Thanks for the new meta! This is exactly the opposite of what one would expect out of a predator game. Humans and predators working together at a break neck, chaotic pace to earn more credits than the other human/predator alliance. WTF?..

Don’t know much about Clash, but Hunt meta has been shaken up totally. Fireteam are in for some surprises when the Pred mains have finished testing the new changes.

Do you understand that this is not the main game mode? You go there to have fun and go hunting

As strange as it may seem clash does likely provide valuable data. Future game modes may benefit from what they can find out about hit detection, human vs pred movement speed, hip fire and ads accuracy averages, etc.

So i guess be patient for now, and try to garner some attention for modes you do want to be included! You never know when illfonic may be listening lol

I do enjoy clash allot actually. It’s a good break for when I want to play something more action oriented, rather than just hopping over to Titanfall 2 like I usually would.

That being said, I totally agree. Clash is invaluable for collecting data on the combat systems of the game and improving them. If Illfonic does this right, they will be using Clash to improve overall game health.

The best way to find flaws in your game mechanics is to push them to their breaking point and see where they start to fall apart.
