Youā€™re going to be held accountable for this

Iā€™m about 70/30 heā€™s not serious lol. It must be sarcasm, in reference to all the others who claim to be in the top percentage of players.

Predator damage is not even linear, nor the UI, this dude just downloaded fmodel and is now pretending to understand everything we have been dissecting for over a year.

With absolutely no disrespect intended, Iā€™d say thatā€™s very generous tbh. I havenā€™t watched any of YautjaSymbioteā€™s gameplay in quite a while but if everything youā€™re saying here in this analysis is true about his gameplay then youā€™re definitely right about this part:

But Heck, @YautjaSymbiote Iā€™d be willing to help you train & get better as Predator if thatā€™s something youā€™d be interested in. Iā€™m not here to bash you or take the piss out of you or anything like that but if you want some honest, constructive criticism on your gameplay & you want to actually get better, I can help you with that if youā€™ve got time for it. Iā€™ve trained some people who recently started playing the game on PS and theyā€™ve all gotten considerably better so seeing as youā€™re someone with more experience than them youā€™d probably take things on board pretty quickly too.

Youā€™ve got me added on PSN already so you can just lmkšŸ‘

If thatā€™s the outcome, then I also need to lose to BendingLight.

thanks mate. i watch a lot of naskopz (some with you in it) which is where i try to base my pred strategies

I try to be generous where needed. There arenā€™t that many PS Pred mains that I would consider to be very good, like making logical choices, intelligent engagements, and an understanding of the balance and damage between the two sides. His gameplay feels like a chick hatching from an egg; heā€™s almost there, he just needs a little bit of help to get all the way through. I understand we canā€™t run metas all the time, thatā€™s no fun, and we canā€™t all copy Samā€™s playstyle, but unfortunately there is a specific formula in this game that works, and any variation from that tends to end in a loss. And thatā€™s not the playerā€™s fault. And honestly I like his Amazon build, its how and when he chooses to engage that needs some tweaking. I think thatā€™s the biggest criticism I have, other than claiming while under fire.

I donā€™t play with that guy anymore & I havenā€™t played with him in ages. Him & his team talked a load of shit to me after I played against their team & won 90% of the matches despite them using Dante/Support/Dutch combinations. Heā€™s also not that great as Predator in my experience but heā€™s a better Predator player than he is a Fireteam player to give credit where it is due.

Either way without trying to sound like some kind of arrogant egocentric, Iā€™d recommend watching either my videos or Samhainā€™s videos over naskopzā€™s. I do plan on uploading more commentary based Private Matches soon, Iā€™ve just had a lot of other stuff to work on.

I can give you general advice on strategies & game plan at pretty much any given point, I did a more or less full breakdown of a couple matches playing as Wolf against some good teams in Private Matches that I uploaded on my channel fairly recently so thatā€™d be somewhere decent to start in the meantime.

You mean you want me to train you too?šŸ˜‚

I canā€™t express how much of a beating I took from him. Thatā€™s how you gain experience.

the only thing i really picked up from him was the beginning-of-match bear trap/combi throw/plasma pistol kill. other than that its pretty much average pred gameplay. unfortunately most of the time any decent fireteamā€™s spidey sense will go off and theyā€™ll shoot the trap as its coming down out of the sky. there needs to be a perk that makes predkour quieter (leaves shaking, branches groaning, etc)

just donā€™t do predkour. if you watch sam, dan, thunder and other good pred players, they never run on branches, they just leap in and out of them

Branches put you in a very good position for the FT to shoot at you

You can honestly adopt a few different playstyles/wavelengths of play at the highest levels in my experience. Itā€™s not like the ā€œMetaā€ playstyle is just one single playstyle by itself. There are multiple different ways to play as Predator at the highest level. They donā€™t differentiate massively of course, as they all require ranged combat, and it will vary from class to class as to what game plans & strategies are most effective for them, but itā€™s not like thereā€™s only one way to win at the highest level.

To be fair, a lot of the time it will depend on your opponents too. For example, I donā€™t play as aggressively against a PC Death Squad as I would against a PS Death Squad. I have to play more cautious & even more tactical due to the better aim of PC Players. Particularly if my aim isnā€™t as good as it normally is. Some days I will adopt the Dithered Lens style of play if my aim with the Plasma Pistol & Combistick throw isnā€™t at its best. Some days I will stop playing Celtic/Mr Black/Scar/JH & swap to Wolf if I think Iā€™m trying to rely on traps too much & itā€™s not paying off. Youā€™ve got to be aware & reflective of your own gameplay as much as anyone elseā€™s.

Not even trying to sound like a cheesy movie one-liner, but you literally have to think like a Predator (not the kind you find in a playground obviously). You can legitimately get a lot better just by looking at the way the Jungle Hunter hunted down Dutchā€™s team in the first movie & applying the best aspects of it to your gameplay.

I was doing that long before he even knew how to do it himself. According to people in his PSN group chat, he literally bought a custom controller of some kind to be able to do it, which is pretty funny when you consider people can do it easily with a normal PlayStation controller but anyway yes youā€™re right, the rest of his gameplay is pretty average.

Jelou is correct. If youā€™re just running around on the branches, youā€™re moving slow as hell & making way too much noise anyway. Anyone with ears will be able to locate you & light you up. If you just jump straight to the branches it will already improve your chances of getting the jump on the Fireteam by like 90%.

iā€™m trying to do that more. i need to adjust my climb up a tree button to r3 but i already have r3 binded to equip the plasma caster when i press it

Customising your controls is good, I personally only changed a few things so itā€™d be a few minor things to get used to if you were to change them but they work extremely well.

I use ā¬†ļø for Weapon 2 (Your Primary Weapon), ā—€ļø for Weapon 3 (Your Secondary Weapon) and then R3/Right analogue stick for Jump/Branch Switch. I just use Weapon wheel for Plasma Caster, Traps etc.

Iā€™ve tried to adapt that into my play style, hopping into and through the branches rather than typical predkour. Its hard to shake just leaping to the FT like normal though lol.

Never really thought of it like this before. Like I know you have to adapt depending on how the FT reacts to you, but using the movies as an example coupled with real life though processes, kinda makes sense. You canā€™t always go in aggressively, sometimes a hit and run approach works, or sporadic aggressiveness, slowly depleting their resources while learning how they play.
