Never watched the predator franchise.my Fav si-fi horrors are THE THING AND ALIEN
I figured since matchmaking takes a coo min ima watch the pred. movies in a row.
But what’s yall fav one?
Fav. Predator movie
Predator 1987, every other movie isn’t too bad but they all don’t come close to the original. The only one I hate is “The Predator” that one is pure dog shit for the most part.

highly recommend this guy’s youtube channel and his website. He has awesome in depth commentary on Predator. You can get the full version at his website for those interested. I watched his full 2001 commentary. I like how he dissects the meaning in absolutely everything. some really good points which only add to the appreciation of the film.

def the 1st one… no other comes close. second best is The Predators 2010 and 3rd best is Predator 2… The Predator 2018 falls 4th. the AvP movies are an absolute travesty

I thought they made more predator movies. I looked up the franchise and only 4 popped on google. Felt like they made more. Lol that’s a good list though

its all downhill after the first one. the second is as close to the first as you will get but it just isn’t the same without the cast and reveal of the first. the slaughter house and king willy scenes are legit predator moments though.

BTW, the thing and Alien movies i agree they are very very good movies.
Pred 1 man. Too easy. However I like Wolf a lot from AVP 2. That guy was a damn boss! Took on like an entire infestation of xenos and pissed off humans. Oh yeah…and a predalien.

Original Predator cuz its a classic…but I think the Predators 2010 with Adrien Brody and a bunch of others in it was actually really entertaining. Its the one I rewatch the most out of them beside AvP(the first one), which is probably my favorite beside the other 2 i just mentioned

The Thing 1982 is absolutely brilliant one of the best horrors. Alien and Aliens are just pure class, Alien gives the pure thrill of horror and Aliens gives the pure thrill of action.

You’re certainly missing out @Slater. Solid taste with The Thing and Alien.
Since I grew up with Predator, and the fact is that the '87 Classic is classic for a reason, start with that one. Then watch Predators as it’s a modern take on the Original but with a lot of fun twists and excellent homages along with some very grounded and interesting additions. I say watch Predator 2 third as it’s a lot of fun and introduces some fantastic Effects and Designs. Overall, it’s not as great as the Original. Predator 2 is very good, but just not great.
AvP Requiem is merely OK but the Wolf Predator is quite interesting and he introduces some awesome Yautja Tech. Overall, Requiem works on Paper but not as a Film execution wise.
AvP (the Paul Anderson one) is stylish and has it’s moments but overall it’s merely average. What’s mostly aggravating is that the Source Material was changed so much it ended up being for the worse. You’re better off reading Alien VS Predator: Prey as that was what we were supposed to get.
Summarizing AvP versus the Source Material, Prey:
In Prey, Machiko Noguchi is a badass Asian Chick (think Ripley from Aliens but much more capable and tougher) who fights along Broken Tusk, a fascinating Elder Predator, taking out a Queen together. Predators in Prey are portrayed are badass, sleek and smart all while getting into the details of Yautja Clan Hierarchy. It’s fascinating.
In AvP, they neuter Machiko by turning her into an… Ice Climber with sass. Who is given a… Xenomorph Head as a Shield and it’s Tail as a Spear. I wish I was making this up. Also, they present the unblooded Predators as large, Linebacker jocks. At least Lance Henrickson played the cool part of Weiland Yutani (I’m really digging for positives!!).
Overall, you’re better off sticking with Predator '87, Predators and Predator 2. Requiem is interesting at the very least. Dark Horse released some phenomenal Predator Series and Stephen Perry wrote some killer Novels, Like Prey and Hunter’s Planet that would definitely keep you interested.
