@Fire, does god love you?

You can’t have it both ways, if your god also the creator.

Unless it was not creator, then it could omnipotent, but not all powerful.

If it was the creator and omnipotent, then it created the actions that you will one day make, both good and evil, and is directly responsible for the actions of all its creation.

Okay so the question is can god and evolution co-exist

A god created life, and then that life evolves on its own or with gods guiding hand

Done

You don’t need a whole mythos to explain something

By breaking something down to generalizations, you can then build it to fit the scenario.

You’re right. That is a possibility.

If anybody thinks there is merit to the argument that even though religion might not be true, it generally is a force for good, Christopher Hitchens wrote a book just for you.
God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. I recommend the audio book. Enjoy.

It could be good, but do we have to delude ourselves just to get through the day. I know life can be tough and faith can make it more bearable. But perhaps clear thinking will get you on the right track faster. We need to have richer relationships with other human being and not depend on God so much. It should be healthier to work things out with another person than to pray.

That being said, i still feel troubled to take religion away from someone in who’s life it plays a big role.

I agree. On an individual level, it would be a losing battle to convince everyone that their superstitions, which includes much more than religious beliefs, are not true.

However, government should always be clearly separated from religious institutions and ideology. Additionally, religious institutions must always be held to the standard of the law and not allowed special exceptions. Also, every individual should have unrestricted public access to information pertaining to other religions and non religious ideology.

Finally, don’t be afraid to call people out on logical contradictions pertaining to any superstitious belief, especially religious beliefs.

The irony is that the government gives them unprecented tax incentives to build churches. I don’t know how much but my education about it stems from Sim City the original SimCity on dos. (therefore it must be true).

That’s fair. I think most people who believe are pretty reasonable. Its mostly when beliefs scrutinized that people can become intolerant. But that true with everything

Yes. It’s definitely gotten out of hand. I don’t know the perfect solution for that, but it needs a reform to address the problems of the 21st century with mega churches and televangelists. They make promises in the name of God and take every last bit of wealth from the poor and disenfranchised.

I dont know if God is or not because I personally can’t comprehend perfection because I’ve never seen perfection.

My point was its not just chemicals firing off they’re firing off as a reaction to something.

So here’s whats likely going to happen if happiness is default its gona mean that thats now comprehended as fine and a higher emotion is comprehended as happiness and slight annoyance could be comprehended as anger or its simply just comprehended as a constant inner peace

So a universe without out light can’t have our darkness because it’d be something else to what ever exists in that universe, darkness only exists for us in our specific way because we experience light and have given those specif meanings to those two phenomenons

Best at everything

Philosophy is a gray area so nothing unique there

One can be omnipotent/all powerful and not dominate things with its will. To be all powerful is to have ultimate freedom

I understand the word but can’t comprehend it fully since I’m flawed ill see flaws in what might be flawless

Fair enough

Constant inner peace would be the idea

Darkness is the absence of light

If there is no light then there is an abundance of absences of light

If we in this world travel to a different dimension with no light sources, darkness wouldn’t cease to exist, and darkness wouldn’t be created.

It simply as is.

It only exists for us because we came from somewhere with light. If this universe had no light no one would have given the meaning darkness too the absence of it and would exist as something entirely different

Darkness is beyond a concept

Just because we don’t put it as such doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist

Dualism is a old concept in faith that has mostly been dismissed. Why are we still arguing about it ? 😂

I think we took a wrong turn somewhere
