Ok here are a few things I think need to change to further make it a more, pleasurable, experience for the predator. Before we get started I know that the game is less than a week old and a majority of the people who are going to suggest things are simply not playing the predator right or coming into this game with a “friday the 13th” mentality of “Oh i can just jump in and I am supposed to be able to kill everyone” and it is forcing them to make bad choices and then call for buffs so they can achieve that lazy, unskilled level of play. My focus on balance right now more or less revolves around the fireteam.
AI
First things first, we need to overhaul the AI. The big issue now, and I am saying this as a primary fireteam player, is that it is far too easy to ignore being shot by 3-5 AI and focus on the predator. This is what is causing a lot of issues for predators in game. We should increase the AI count, their damage and overall make them a more viable threat to the fireteam instead of forest mosquitoes.
Match pacing/Length
The matches, while set at a 15 minute timer, are in reality a 5-7 minute game with the lackluster objectives. THis is putting most predator players into a rushed state because they know ifo they try to take their time the fireteam will have all objectives done within a few minutes and we are kind of removing the “hunt” part of the predators play style. Traps are more often then not useless because you have no time to really plant them or you are forced to check them down after being spotted. (A good predator can obviously be an exception to some of what I am saying here).
Solution: We should add a Risk/Reward objectives. After the initial objective give the fireteam the option to stay on the map, and they can radio for the evac at any point but the longer they stay on map the more EXP they gain but also give the predator more time to kill them.
Fireteam Attrrition
The attrition on the fire team is silly good. Between the medbags, ammo bags, field kits and field ammo boxes the fire team has a near endless supply of healing on the field and honestly what people bring in for gear has little to no impact on the play style of the fire team.
Solution: To help make it more nerve wracking and force the fire team to make smarter plays we should reduce the attrition of the fire team by limiting med bags/ammo bags and the availability of things in the field.
Those are my top 3 right now of what we need to fix as far as improving the game outside of bug fixes, etc. I find the predator is fairly balanced right now (Could use some tweaks on gear, I wont deny that) but I disagree 100% that the solution right now is to “buff the predator”. I think that will put us down a bad path like it did in friday the 13th when you guys kept nerfing jason into the ground due to community outcry so lets not make that mistake again here in the opposite fashion.
