Fireteam damage needs rework + some Pred reworks

So, since I play Fireteam for some while I can say myself that they need to rework the weapons damage for sure.

One Fireteam with good aim could kill a Pred alone, which is not supposed to be because a Pred is a more powerful entity. One Sniper shot with the SAWZ-50 does 252 damage, but to be honest the Snipers should be the strong weapons. Though most of the Assault Rifles and other weapons needs some rework as well as the damage being distance based. The farther the Pred is away the lesser damage it should be. Though the damage in close range should not be to overwhelming. And the Knifes should have depending on their Size have different damage.

Now to the Pred’s. They should get a bit more mêlée damage as well as maybe more health along a bullet-based resistance and plasma-based resistance. Especially those classes who don’t have as much health as the Viking or Berserker.

Valkyrie has still good health, so this nerf wasn’t that bad when using a good perk combination. Though she would deserve to receive a bullet and plasma resistance against the Fireteam weapons.

Predators aren’t bullet proof and if we’re talking realistically, a 50 cal from a Sniper would blow apart a Predators head. What I will say is, buff the Shotguns, they are trash to use against the Predator in close range.

We’re talking about distances of about 200-300m maximum if you try to shoot a Pred who’s jumping around on the other side of the map, while most interactions are at distances of 20-50m and less.
250-300m is pretty much the effective range of most Assault Rifles in real life, so it shouldn’t be nerfed imho.
SMGs and Pistols are another thing. But they are already pretty impractical to use on long ranges.
The SAW-Z still requires you to have perfect aim to be effective, you can do similar amounts of damage with other weapons if your aim is awesome.

Instead of adjusting the weapons, they should rather do something about the cloak and sound.
Maybe give Preds more Perks or Specializations that prevent getting so much damage.
Or much better: Rework the Spotting.

This is only a matter of what kind of level the player’s skill are on, if both players are equally skilled then the Fireteam player will never win.

Correct, sniper rifles do the most damage and requires the most skill to be used effectively, nothing needs to be changed there.

I don’t understand what you wish to change here or what you mean, the assault rifles already has a damage drop on the bullets(effective range).

I disagree, the damage should depend on where you hit the Predator on the body. A knife is a knife, a weapon which you stab or cut with.

You’re aware of that for example a Samurai-Ghost one shots most classes with the battle axe right? or that most classes who has the Ghost specialization already do insane melee damage(+40% if using the fearless perk), yet you want more damage?
If you want to be a melee Predator then you make a loadout meant for close combat, you don’t pick weapons such as the bow, plasma pistol or smart disc, nor do you pick perks such as height advantage, down range, dithered lense etc, these are only examples.

As for the “damage resistance” part, the Predator classes who doesn’t have that high health makes it up with high movement speed and stamina, they’re suppose to avoid taking damage instead of soaking it up, which atleast to me is pretty obvious. :P
Playing as Predator takes alot more skill, having a good judgement of situations etc unlike playing as Fireteam, if you make mistakes you get alot more punished than the Fireteam gets.

Basically what you’re asking for with this and the quote above is that you want a Predator class that moves the fastest of them all, has the highest stamina, highest health pool and highest resistance to taking damage. So what’s the point of having several classes then? :p

Honestly I think the balance and damage output on both sides is actually pretty good right now. Pred specializations really helped.

Maybe let’s not worry about the damage and such right now I feel like the balancing is pretty decent for both sides.

Just want new stuff for the predator and new like animations and whatnot like skinning the fire team Predator dogs better challenges for fire team maybe like in Friday the 13th were really good

Well, maybe the health buff could be left away. But alongside Viking and Berserker the Valkyrie is the only class with no natural bullet resistance like for example scout has and hunter became to a later time.
Maybe she will get it at one point.
I understand Berserker and Viking not having it though maybe all classes should have it just to make them all a little equal.
