Fireteam has a more fleshed out melee system than the pred

But really the knife gets heavy attacks with parry frames meanwhile the predator just gets a repeated string of combos for every weapon. Even the sword.

Explain.

What I wanna know is what happened to the flagging system on the forums.
Regarding your question, the Predator being as massive as it is , it mainly focuses on combos and fighting “style”.
Give it a gun and a knife and it will probably use the gun the whole time and melee once or twice every encounter.
Meanwhile this exact scenario happens everytime on FT’s side. Adding knife combos would make it (the knife) too powerful, removing parry would make it half useless. So they came with the idea of combining them. Add parry and 2 knife attacks, weak and strong attacks, to be exact.
I hope this answer your question. Idk this is what I thought off regarding your question.

i find it a wierd oversight that the 2 main melee weapons club and sword don’t have a unique L2 or heavy attack to compensate that you can’t throw them like the spear and the disc and to a lesser extent the claw into plasma canon
they clearly had the idea with FT knife having 2 attack types why didn’t’ they do this with all dedicated melee weapons is beyond me

'Cause balance that’s not balanced.

My take @Finessology?? Yes, a Fireteam Character does in fact have a silly little Parry System. But their Health Pools are much lower compared to the Predator. And the Net Gun immediately shuts a Parrying Player down. And hard.

But most importantly?? Movement. A Predator in the Hands of someone who has an excellent grasp on how to bob and weave through a Fireteam throws the Parry System out the window. You can seriously disorient a Fireteam by running circles around them with Jumps/Bunny Hops and Leaps. Force them to scramble and suddenly Parrying is the last thing on their mind.

All of this comes from a Berserker Main. While bulkier, he’s still incredibly nimble. Toss in Bear Traps and Audio Decoys for good measure.

Parry is indeed very stupid. Savvy fireteams will have one guy parry fight you while the others shoot you. Its stupid stupid fucking stupid, a human parrying a predator.

I faced a predator like that he wws aggressive and just would be not keep still, very good evasive manuveres and he using the net but not fully doing combo to kill a netted to avoid taking shot at to much his style would to make us miss have low ammo, panick, seperate and we was down to 3 ft but the 3 ft member was struggling with the predator movements we all was the predator leap is strong and I’m not talking about the leap slam the normal leap left us disorientated and he was gonna die soon so I had no choice but to ditch them and run to reinforments the predator focused on the last 2 and I bought the whole team back our team was not so organised and we would of all died for sure we Lost the game in the end

That’s why as a Pred you never give them the opportunity. When I see a knife come out, I immediately cloak and get them disoriented and get quick hits in from the side and back. If the Fireteam is around them, I bounce the fuck outta there, I’m not gonna soak up a shit ton of damage.

Parrying with the knife all though more easy to do than holding gun u don’t get much from it the predator gets pushed back and u don’t have enough time to stab him again? Or can u seems a bit tight

The melee speed of the berserker is identical I believe to the point where it’s almost a constant parry. But I have never been out-parried as a scout

In my opinion, most probably because the FT is almost like a copy + paste generic FPS character one could easily grab off of the EGS.

The Predator is quite the custom character and I hope not considered finished.

simple fix to this would be allow the predator to also parry there we can have cool 1v1 duels between fireteam members and predator

Pred isn’t meant to be a brawler in this game especially. Its meant to be more of a harassment playstyle. Gurelilla tactics. Hit and run . Fuck with the FT

predator could use an attack which can go through parry or knock down for each melee weapon.

Because your job as a FT member when being attacked is not to deal damage, it’s to survive. This ultimately puts more damage on the Pred.

Let’s assume you either have an idiot on your team who split off or the Pred snared someone. The longer you’re alive the more time the other 2 members have to react and focus fire.

Parrying stops his damage, lets you pop a syringe and stuns him briefly so he’s an easy shot. Since you don’t need to have the knife equipped to parry you then open fire.

Compare this to just shooting him - you get two or three shots off that deal maybe 1/6 of his health. Parrying being this good makes ranged combat king… which feels more like how Predator should be played. If Illfonic wants melee predators to be viable they need to add heavy attacks on the Sword and Club.

Agreed.

Sadly with how much healing the FT has access to poke doesn’t do much. They really need to extend the matches and reduce the availability of medkits.

I did that math a while ago, a team of 4 supports (which are the best due to their high health pools - soak the damage then heal it later) can have 8 medkits and syringes. That’s 24 innate 100% heals and 8 combat heals. This is NOT including all the medkits around the map, where each OBJ usually has 1. So you’re looking at roughly 30 full heals since each mission takes them to three areas.

Overcharge Plasma Cast is the best way to go if you have a FT with 2+ PC players.

Only thing is, I think you meant, strong and stronger attack lol

Considering its harder to parry then it is to smash 1 button to attack as the predator, I do believe its fine. You are not supposed to jump in and kill anybody with 1 button as his mates are shooting at you.

Whatever

This is my hope too since quite a few things in this game seem like placeholders. It’s just strange pred gets the most straightforward boring melee system atm.
