Fireteam Hunting Grounds. Predatorless.

High ranking FT members are the real predators here. Yo, I’ve been playing just predator and let me tell you- FT out there that know what they’re doing can WRECK you as the Predator. The right perks, customizations, and weapons… man, predator doesnt stand a chance. Four FT members with extra pred damage perks… Impenetrable perk doesnt stand a chance either. Even going for claims is risky cause they light you up downing someone from a distance.

It should be safe to say that predator should get a buff, considering you can run four anti-predator FT members. When they got miniguns and launchers, you are running for dear life. If you run fast enough. Some of them say fuck it and end up hunting the predator. <—Hence, why the games/lobbies are so fast and wait times are so long.

You gotta keep the players playing in the game long enough for others to create lobbies. Once, those servers have people and just now entering and playing the game, the ones that were playing in the game gave them enough time to create as they exit the server for a different lobby/server. If I made that make sense lol… Thus, creating a regulated flow of traffic to servers. The wait times to play predator be crazy, so I’m thinking it’s got to do with the influx of people, right, vs. the amount of time for the actual playing of the game.

Predator should have more gear and perks in his/her arsenal to actually hunt and kill prey- stalking, maiming, corralling, etc. Cause let’s face it. You really can’t stalk like that. Retreating to go heal, only to wait a long ass time till full health seems kinda handicapped. If you’re on the ground, they can literally run up to you and dump you full of lead. And that’s saying about second wind also. It’s too easy to track the predator… it’s like FT are better trackers than a predator… A PREDATOR.

I can’t say much about FT needing a buff because I don’t play as often. I can tell you there is enough in the FT customization menu to hold your own against several predator attacks… then times that by four if the other players know what they’re doing.

But imma stick around. Been a fan since I was a kid and this is the first predator game like this. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this game. So devs don’t fuck it up. People got some great ideas on these threads. Id invest in what people got to say. Gotta pick and choose which ones will prosper though.

I’ve died twice to the Predator in 7 hours of playtime as Fireteam. That’s insane. So many baffling design decisions here.

You’re supposed to be an alien whose whole culture revolves around hunting and stalking prey, but you’re given next to no tracking tools on a ginormous map. You’re looking for a needle in a haystack if the Fireteam muds up and stays quiet. Zero tools to track Fireteam movement except a vague target isolation on a hefty cooldown.

It’s been beaten to death on the forums, but the Predator is a laughingstock unless you’re going against noobs. And it’s especially egregious considering we all said as much during the beta.

Unfortunately, weak Predators make for a really boring Fireteam experience. I just don’t feel threatened by anything at all. Every mission is essentially same. Go to a place, press F at various spots, shot braindead AI armed with super soakers, then go to the extraction.

It’s just boring. I’m sorry, but an asymmetrical game needs to have a strong power role, otherwise you just have a super boring game. You’re a hunter with next to no tracking tools. A strong Predator with the clunkiest melee skills and weapon swapping in the galaxy, and next to no health. You have ranged weapons to compensate, but they do little damage, get blocked by leaves, and deplete your energy. I really want to like this game, but every element works against itself. It’s a snoozefest more often than not.

My suggestion: ditch the PVE elements altogether and rework the game to be a straight up 1v4. I don’t think this works on maps this size with how little tracking Predators have. There’s not nearly enough engagement between Predators and Fireteams, and the Predator is a punching bag to boot.

As a Fireteam, you can’t have 1 minute of actually engaging a weak Predator with the rest of the match being the blandest off-brand PS3 co-op shooter imaginable. And as a Predator, the game consists of wandering a vast jungle of nothing for large stretches at a time until you finally find a Fireteam who quickly decimates you. Then you go to heal and lose the Fireteam and have to wander the jungle again. Even if this is simply a newer player thing, it shouldn’t be happening in the first place.
