Fireteam objectives.

I play exclusively as Predator, now that most FT players have mastered the maps, they’re finishing the games far too quickly… 🤔
I can’t be the only one who doesn’t want to wait in a queue for ages, only for the FT to get to the exfil within 5 minutes can I? 🤔

Reworking missions to make them longer would not only make the long queues feel more worthwhile, but also make the ‘war of attrition’ style Predator gameplay the devs seem to be aiming for actually work. It’s clear that you’re “supposed to” stalk the Fireteam for extended periods and take potshots where you can to wear them down before decisively engaging (else they wouldn’t have nerfed the gear that encourages big plays right from the start of a fight), but as it stands the Fireteam just aren’t on the map for long enough to actually wear them down even after the reduction in the amount of supplies each man can bring.

This creates a scenario where in reality the Predator is encouraged to almost YOLO into the Fireteam in a do-or-die assault because he’s not just fighting the Fireteam, he’s also fighting the clock. Extending missions and restoring the numbers of AI soldiers present would go a long way to fixing most of this game’s issues, IMO.

That’s gonna take some time to balance out. It does depend on what style Predator you are. If you are a slow starter Pred. Your gonna have some problems. If you were a fast starting, harass Pred. You won’t have such a big adjustment. Let’s just say the current meta doesn’t favor a slow starter.

Alot of people feel this way about the current gameplay.

Missions are FAR too short and easy to complete, even more so now they nerfed defend timers and removed AI…Like, why would you even do such a thing when it was already easy enough and the AI weren’t exactly an issue to begin with for fireteam members.

I’m hoping this is their next focus since alot of other issues have been quickly resolved

I agree. The Predator is against the clock significantly enough that you can’t really afford to waste much time laying down plans. You have to pinpoint the FT and then hammer them as aggressively and frequently as possible, before they can make any real progress.

Right now, the average game seems to last about 8 minutes. I’d like to see that shifted up closer to 12-15 minutes to make a more satisfying exchange, with more opportunities for the Predator to try for a “long game” approach and not feel so forced to rush down the FT.

15 minutes and its game over for the FT…

It’s a loss condition that they currently NEVER see. They can move way too quickly.

I would like a longer game too. I had thoght maybe there would at the start be more stalking and teasing by the predator, those creepy mimic voices etc and that the Objectives would be more spread out so that FT players felt engaged and a bit immersed as a TEAM. then when the poop hits the fan later on its GET TO THE CHOPPA time! i dont mind if it makes it harder to complete for the FT as i am a FT main and welcome a tough fight.

But even as a FT main it all feels to fast and furious at the moment. I pity to long queuing Predator players a lot.

My thinking is there needs to be a cooldown between objectives. Just a couple minutes. This would allow the Fireteam time to kill AI, look for Veritanium, while the Predator has time to plan the next ambush. Or just have a battle between objectives. Just chasing Fireteam from one objective to the next objective in quick succession just isn’t very fun. A cooldown would be much easier to implement than adding or changing objectives. Also, longer time limit would be needed (20 mins)

i find this post wrong

the missions are ok

the mission are good. i like the tasks and i dont find they repeat too much., I just want them to last longer, be spread out more and allow some tactics. thats all. I love the tension atmosphere and feeling part of a team. Just wish it wasnt over so fast per round

One thing they could do that would be simple and easy is make it so helicopter wait time depends on how much time you have left in the mission. So if you finish really early and call the copter in like 4 min you end up having an extended wait for the copter defending that position.

Or even give the player an option at that point between calling the copter then and having extended wait time for copter or pursuing extra optional mission that trigger if you get to copter too soon.

Objectives need to always spawn apart from each other to utilize the entire maps. Need to also make some more hazardous objectives like having to escort a vip or take a device from one camp to another that can atleast be slowed but not entirely setting up FT for a slaughter which I understand that. I’ve been playing pred exclusively since day one currently lvl 58 and had a blast from 1-40. Third day I ran into a ton of rushers and ridiculous spotting to the point of not even being allowed to start the pressure.
