Folks are coming back! But...

A ton of day one friends are coming back and even a handful of streamers that played this game a while ago are coming back and enjoying the hunt.

I hope the next update provides a plethora of content for folks to enjoy.

People are coming back, but this game needs that content boost and especially with fortnite players coming over (and receiving basically nonstop content), hopefully will entice them to stick around.

Some people even say they only play this game because other people (their friends) do.

Here’s to hoping they do actually, stick around.

Oh, sweet irony!

They’ve probably come back because of the whole Fortnite ordeal. They won’t stay long I bet. Also the top stream on Twitch for hunting grounds right now is someone playing DBD lol. That really speaks volumes about the game.
(No idea how DBD is Predator hunting grounds but twitch seems to think so)

This is what I mean though. If illfonic isn’t willing g to capture a body of players the first time, why aren’t they trying to snare them now?

Line up a content drop with this crossover. The bug fixes were a nice touch.

The marketing doesn’t make sense and there is no drive to have players play this game.

Its saddening.

Yup. We’ll just have to see if this next update is enough to get people to stick around. If not then they’re blowing it.

This makes me wonder if there is a larger plan for this game, or they have accept the fate of the game enevitably dying out.

Both which the fans will not witness until the very last second like all their other drops. (Little to no hype building and zero marketing)

Again… :(

Well tbh I don’t think they are done with the game. They always talk about how they’re excited for the future of the game and that there’s a lot to come. That makes me believe they’ve got some long term plans with the game. Only problem is are they going to keep supporting a game that might not be doing too well? Only time will tell I guess.

SAME MY GUY!!!
LOOK AT US NOW!

I’ve brought up the analogy of having one of those server domes, on a platter, they keep tilting the dome so they can see what’s underneath it, while we have no idea.

On what planet, can you create hype about saying you’re (illfonic) excited, with no teases whatsoever and any teases they do, leave more questions than answers.

It’s hard to make hype out of nothing.

Guess the overlords at Sony have bigger plans and time will certainly tell.

Always puts a smile on my face. What I would do to be able to use that line…

As the saying goes “life is what happens when you’re busy making plans”

Illfonic might have SOOOO MANYYY plans for this game, but it doesn’t matter if the game has no players due to their thus far incompetence, thus no revenue. Sad truth.

The number of expected ppl they thought they would hit surely is way higher than the active amount of ppl in the game right now.

Again, this franchise took a tank after 2018.

Maybe they are happy the game is still a float after that?

Makes sense as to why they have done minimal marketing or actively being present in the community.

With a movie in the works, bet they are hoping for some parallel success. Just like fortnite.

Saving them $$$

Those sound like reasonable assumptions, except for the movie part. I only say that because Trachtenberg had intended for the Predator plot point of his movie being a secret until very close to the movie’s release or even after, but unfortunately shithead media got a scoop and ran with it.

Yea

I mean maybe now that it’s not a secret Illfonic hopes to be bailed by some movie hype, but in all honesty even the most haedcore fans are only hopeful it won’t suck. Which is a sad place to be in all honesty…

There’s a long discussion to have on the roles of the developer (us), the role of the publisher, the role of the license holder. I wont try to sort that all out. With Fortnite, Epic is the publisher AND the developer and already have a standing agreement with the IP holder for the Marvel placements in their game.

At least on the business backend, it would be a logistical nightmare to do anything too involved. Even if we did, it would have a direct effect on delaying the next DLC, cause there’s only so many developers on our side. I personally would rather us to focus on the Feb DLC.
