FORUM MODERATION

Hello!

Hopefully this topic doesn’t get swept under the rug… however I would like to propose some type of forum moderation here… it’s unreal how much negativity this forum has gained and although you guys have made a post about it, nothing is being done. 9/10 times I check the forums for a quick update and the main topics are ALL RANTS . You don’t need it, we don’t need it. Constructive criticism or any type of criticism that also offers a solution and is done in a good manner is great and welcome… however I see so many posts about “iLlFoNic sUX” or “giB me maH $$$ baCk!!!”
And I’m sure there are others who would be glad to help out but I for one would have no problem Moderating the forums. It’s just annoying to have to sift through so many pages just to find an actual useful topic instead of rants, rants rants.

Anyhow, the suggestion is to appoint certain members of the community in good standing to the point they can at least lock or shut down a topic that’s completely hate speech. Whether or not I’m included in those people is up to you but I would love to help clean up the forums. Perhaps even add more categories (Guides, PRO tips) for example to spread knowledge instead of hate.

They’re too busy posting tweets that promote other games and working on shaders. They ain’t got time to moderate the forums, amigo.

In all seriousness though they really should pay attention to the forums and moderate it. But I don’t think any one of us should have that power. Knowing people on here, they’ll abuse it.

Agreed. Using this community may not be the best idea. There are helpful folks but to really be able to trust it, put someone in charge of it. That they appoint.

I’d happily do it, but I wouldn’t have the time. With a full time job and family, I wouldn’t want to spend my free time cleaning up after people.

It is sad though, that so many good posts possibly go unnoticed, due to some of the absolute crap that is posted on here. :(

The game breeds crap. To be a moderator would suck. I wouldnt do it unless i got paid. I wouldnt even touch general discussion. Just feedback and bugs

Here’s a suggestion that would solve your problem- add a Rants section 😂

Move them all there

No moderation needed

This would be a bad idea buddy, it would just take one person to be biased and it would open up a whole different can of worms

Your heart is in the right place but in the end it shouldn’t come down to forum members to police illfonics forums. They seem to have alot of interaction on here now than they have in the past, if your cage gets rattled by negativity you are best just giving those threads a wide birth. Anything that isn’t constructive criticism isn’t worth the time it takes to read it. You will always get people who live for that kind of shit but try and remember it’s about the gaming, get what enjoyment you can out of the product while you can
